This Facial Is The First Step In Emily Blunt’s Red Carpet Glam Routine

The 2024 awards season is in full swing and while newcomers to the A-list parade might feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of invitations to black tie events, Emily Blunt and her glam team are seasoned professionals.

Emily has been working with the same makeup artist, Jen Streicher, for the past 17 years after the pair were introduced by none other than Emily’s husband John Krasinski in 2007.

“In the past couple of years, we’ve really leaned into the less-is-more situation, always quite clean and timeless,” Jen shared with Vanity Fair after the Critics Choice Awards. “It helps that “[Emily] definitely takes care of her skin.”

In fact, a morning facial with celebrity facial masseur, Lord Gavin McLeod Valentine, has become a pre-red carpet ritual for the Oppenheimer actress.

The 40 year old’s go-to is Augustinus Bader’s The Method facial, which Lord pairs with his own signature rhythmic facial massage.

“The Method is [a] professional face and body experience by Augustinus Bader, which systematically layers the complete AB skincare collection,” he explained via Instagram. “The propriety TFC8™️ technology [helps] to immediately revive, hydrate, and nourish the skin, while fascia massage defines, tones and sculpts for unparalleled glow.”

The facial starts with Lord’s signature massage, and the Augustinus Bader The Face Oil ($399 at Augustinus Bader) is applied to the skin to minimise friction. The Face Cream Mask ($337 at Augustinus Bader) is then infused into the skin using a cryo sculpting tool and followed by The Ultimate Soothing Cream ($454 at Augustinus Bader), which is applied prior to 15 minutes of LED light therapy. Finally, Augustinus Bader’s hero product The Rich Cream ($454 at Augustinus Bader) is generously applied as the last step in the regimen.

He also tailors the facial to Emily’s specific skin needs during her appointment by using a range of skin care technologies available in his clinic such as Omnilux LED light therapy, cryo sculpting tools, and Opatra Skincare’s Synergy Marble and Dermasonic devices.

“Words cannot describe how magical this woman is and how much our time together means to me,” Lord said of the actress via Instagram. “To be fully seen for who I am and appreciated for what I do is the greatest gift that could be bestowed upon me. It’s magical dynamics like this that reconfirm my purpose.”

Much like her ongoing professional relationship with her makeup artist Jen Streicher, we imagine Emily and Lord are forging a partnership that will last for many awards seasons to come.
