In case you missed it, the makeup-free revolution is here. And no that doesn’t mean we’re ditching the foundation completely, we’re just having a few ‘bare’ days here and there. But what we could never imagine doing is baring our faces completely devoid of makeup on live TV. Which is exactly what Drew Barrymore and her correspondent Valerie Bertinelli did when joined by au naturale beauty Pamela Anderson on the Drew Barrymore Show.

In honour of the ‘Bare Is Beautiful’ episode, the stars talked all about how it made them feel to ditch the glam. So, let’s find out more about the movement, and of course the trusty product Drew turned to, to take off her makeup.

Drew Barrymore Makeup-Free

In a poignant reminder, once her makeup was removed Valerie made the comment that she still “looks like [her]”, where the ladies told one another that they look like “their beautiful selves”. Basically, we need that put on a mirror to look at every morning.

When Pamela joined them on stage, Drew credited her for “own[ing] this space” and being essentially the “pioneer” for the makeup-free movement. So much so, that the stunning star actually has her own skin care range, which Drew (who still knows her skin care stuff) was keen to learn more about. And why wouldn’t she be when Pamela’s skin looks so unbelievably radiant and smooth, totally without makeup?

It all comes down to (in Pamela’s opinion), making cruelty-free, sustainable and natural choices, in skin care as well as food. And if you’re wondering if this pared-back version of Pammy is here to stay? It’s looking like it! As she told Drew, she’s discovering herself and getting back to nature, gardening and being natural is a huge part of it.

Drew Barrymore’s Favourite Cleanser

Okay, so the label might not have been present with us on stage, but when it comes to iconic micellar waters, we know our stuff. And the bottle that Drew used to remove her makeup was definitely the classic Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water ($16.99 at Priceline). And, of course, it doesn’t hurt that we already know Drew is a major fan of Garnier products.

In fact, micellar water is Drew’s “go-to” for gently removing her makeup, because she’s notorious for treating her face like a “human pumice”. And anything to avoid all the rubbing and scrubbing, but still gives squeaky clean results is a win!

Do you like to go makeup-free? Would you ever follow Drew and Pamela and dare to bare in such a public place?
