This week we’re going global. So if you fancy stealing Kate’s London look, saying “bonjour” to beautiful buys and stocking up on some Tokyo treats then we’ve got just the ticket. Of course a quick look at New York’s Fifth Avenue couldn’t harm either…
France
Carita
Sisters Rosy and Maria Carita wanted women everywhere to unveil “the touch of charm that everyone has”. They believed in the concept of global beauty, of totality: A woman. A look. A face. A silhouette. The luxurious brand still promotes this message today. Our latest lust-have? Progressif Anti-Rides Intense Smooth Out Cream.
Bourjois
Alexandre Napoleon Bourjois started the beautyheaven favourite back in 1863. Spying a gap in the make-up market, the French perfumer wanted to create stage cosmetics that differed from traditional thick, greasy creams that were damaging to skin and so, the world’s first powder blush (in the signature pot that the brand still use today) was born. Stay tuned to beautyheaven to see its retro vintage pots (available in November) but meanwhile, channel old-school glamour with Poudre Exquise (Loose Powder).
L’Oreal Paris
L’Oreal Paris, or Société Française de Teintures Inoffensives pour Cheveux (Safe Hair Dye Company of France to you and I) as it was once known, was founded by Eugène Schueller, a French chemist. Originally developing an innovative hair colour formula, it’s little wonder that the brand is a market leader in affordable haircare technology today (check out the latest Elvive range if you haven’t already). As Jennifer Aniston and Penelope Cruz have told us…we’re so worth it.
