Biologi, AKA one of our favourite skin care brands, has just released a new campaign deserving of a round of applause.
Unveiling its latest anti-ageing serum, Biologi’s Bm Regenerate Anti-Ageing Serum (which by the way is already receiving rave reviews), the brand chose 62-year-old model, Rachel Waller, to be the face of the new product.
Ageism in the beauty industry has always been a hot topic on bh and with many of us crying out for better representation, it’s great to see an older, beautiful woman at the forefront of a fast-growing brand.
“Once you pass a certain age, it is very rare to be approached to be the face of a skin care brand,” said Rachel. “The current ideals seem to focus on younger looking skin so when Biologi approached me to work with the brand I was seriously thrilled!”
Speaking of skin, the photos themselves show Rachel’s in all its natural glory, without any smoothing of fine lines or wrinkles.
“I’m in my sixties so of course I have lines and wrinkles – this campaign allowed me to celebrate that and be proud of who I am, no matter what age,” she said.
It’s not the first time Biologi has been inclusive either, also recently partnering with Indigenous model, Sam Harris, as its first global ambassador.
“Authenticity is something we pride ourselves on at Biologi and this campaign is exactly that,” said Biologi managing director, Lucy Macdougald. “We are celebrating beauty at any age and encouraging people to enhance what they already have (not change it).”
Bravo Biologi, we love to see it.
Have you tried any Biologi products? Do you like the new campaign?
I’ve never heard of this brand. You don’t have to be young to be beautiful.
Yay! Why use models that don’t look like they need to use anti-aging skincare? Much more realistic to use mature models.
Beautiful! Happy to see inclusivity =D
Definitely a brand to check out then.
She looks amazing at that age
amazing
Finally some companies are listening. We are not all 18 years old. It’s great to see a “real” woman that hasn’t been airbrushed.
Thank goodness. We need more brands to understand that when advertising products for older woman we dont want or need to have 18yr old girls in the advertising.
Awesome!
Stunning – I love this Xx
Very beautiful!
So glad to see an Older Model Rachel Waller, to be the face of Biologi defying Ageism in modelling beauty products.
Have never tried Biologi Skincare Products, will have to keep them in mind when I am looking for Skincare products.
The older you are the more products you need, so it makes sense to have an older model.
Wow that is great!!! As you grow old , does not mean you stop using products.
Great idea – people are intelligent and know that if a young teenage model is used in an ad for skincare that the ad isn’t realistic from the start.
I like that they’re using an older model!
This is great, we need to see more of this to make it not unusual.
Good on the brand, not everyone wants to constantly see younger super models on a brand. She looks amazing
I like they are using an older model for an anti ageing product
It’s a wise move for Biologi – older women buy more skincare products! Rachel Waller looks great for 62!
She looks beautiful and it’s so healthy to see more diversity in models.
I love the use of an older model, I’m not familiar with this brand though.
Not only have they used an older model, the model does not look touched up either! (maybe, but I cannot see it)
Well done , it’s a good campaign. First time I hear about it.
Good to see, more brands should do the same.
Finally a company gets it. Hooray, and hope to see a lot more diversity.
This makes so much sense.
Great to see an older model representing an anti-aging product. Older women certainly use more anti-aging products than much younger women whose skin still looks good. An anti-aging product with older women featuring it is more believable too.
I agree with you and ageism exists and unfortunately, it is a serious problem but no one is taking it seriously which makes me feel disappointed.
Very frustrating when companies use someone who has never had a wrinkle on her face because she is still in her teens and yet there she is advertising antiwrinkle products for those woman who are more then double her age.
I think it’s great they are using an older model so we can actually see if a product works on older skin and not just on some gorgeous your model
Great to see age appropriate models in marketing campaigns.
They certainly have my attention because of it Sparkle.
I agree Meedee. I love that this brand is keeping it real 🙂
So good and hopefully more brands will follow.
Keep it real, it makes it more believable if mature models are shown using mature targeted skincare. Of course we all get wrinkles as we age, but we can hydrate and moisturise to even out the skin’s appearance.
Good stuff for using an older model (person). I also think using models that are not so slim is a good idea.
Ive been watching “Fringe” on 7 and I have been interested in the number of older women in that show. I think older women are starting to become more of the norm in media.
about time models dont have to be so fake.
Its nice that models of all types are being used.
What an inspiration and a beautiful woman too.
What a beautiful model.
