What is Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Put simply, it’s one epic long weekend of sales and discounts. It’s the Friday after Thanksgiving in America, where it started, and we’ve since adopted it here in Australia.

There are plenty of deals online and in-store across makeup, skincare, hair, fashion, homewares, tech and just about everything else. In previous years, we’ve seen Black Friday makeup and beauty brands drop their prices by as much as 80 per cent! So while many of us may not like the ‘rush to buy’, if you’re prepared, it can be a gold mine for good deals.

When is Black Friday in Australia?

The official date for Black Friday is the 29th November, 2024. However, it’s worth noting some brands start early to beat the rush. Some even make it a week-long event, starting early and extending their deals until Cyber Monday on Monday the 2nd of December.

    I usually buy Birthday presents for next year at this time of year. Not very organised this year though.

  29. Love Adore Beauty, but they up their prices according to promotions, bought a L’occitane advent gift pack for $59 and a couple of days later saw it on their website for $85!!

  38. Interesting mix to which you can add green Friday as well – some of the sales this year have been terrific. Boody, which I love, has been 50% off on everything and yes, I’ve indulged.
