Find us a skin care-related box niacinamide doesn’t tick, we dare you.

The ultimate overachieving, multitasker, niacinamide is gentle enough to suit all skin types and powerful enough that it will address nearly every skin concern known to man.

From environmental protection to fighting acne, minimising the appearance of pores and even reducing redness, you’re doing your skin a disservice not to include this potent and affordable ingredient in your routine.

But when it comes to selecting the perfect one for you, there are a few factors to consider.

So without further ado, here are our top recommendations for niacinamide serums that will decongest, brighten and hydrate your skin, plus, play nicely with the other products in your active-ingredient arsenal.

Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster

We say: As far as serums go, this one is as lightweight as they come. The 10 per cent niacinamide concentration means this formula is highly effective at targeting skin concerns without causing irritation. Plus, the addition of hyaluronic acid and green tea mean this ultra-hydrating formula will leave the skin glowing and plump.

You say: “The light liquid lotion leaves skin super smooth and soft. Pores are halved and oily skin diminishes with daily use. There’s no breakouts and it helps with the pigmentation removal too. The booster leaves my skin really radiant and imperfection free.” – rayjay

Synergie Skin Vitamin B

We say: Formulated with high levels of niacinamide, Synergie Skin’s formula targets weaker skin barriers to rejuvenate and rebuild while enhancing the skin’s clarity and luminosity.

You say: “I am so surprised and thrilled with the results. It’s especially impressive because the last couple of weeks, I’ve even been able to skip concealer and just use a lightweight foundation. It has also helped to control my oily T-zone and even in 40 degree heat I ‘ve found my makeup is not sliding off due to less oil production.” – eskimo82

  1. wow ok I never really knew what this N stuff did – now I do and it does sound amazing. I have a little bottle of it around here somewhere so I might actually use it now by mixing it in with some other serum!

  2. Have used synergie skin one. Overpriced (way too much) for a single active ing that is cheap to acquire (and no other exxy ingredients in the formula, no actives either, just a base). Though was very pleasant to use, cosmetically pleasing. If I would buy any, would be AlphaH as it has ferulic (good antioxidant) and HA and a copper peptide. Now this is good mix!

  3. I tried the Synergie serum awhile back and used every last drop! It was really good. I try to find serums that have niacinamide in addition to other good things though to help streamline my routine a bit more. As much as I love skincare, there are A LOT of products out there so I’m all about the cocktail serums vs single ingredient.

  4. I was using niacinamide regularly until it began breaking me out :o(. I'm unsure if it was the niacinamide or another ingredient mixed in with it though as I'm also breaking out using The Ordinary's HA atm.

  5. I love the Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide booster – I can't live without it. After I'm done with the bottle I'm going to try the 20%. PC products are just awesome imo. I usually combine it with their AHA & BHA liquids and swipe across my face on a cotton pad as a "toner". My pores have cleared up and shrunk so much even my male housemate said I looked 10 years younger than my age (33) and this was sitting outside in the bright sun with no makeup on 😀 I always highly recommend PC products…. the only other one I've ever tried was the Olay one which was HORRIBLE and still have a full bottle of it. Olay in general is full of nasty chemicals, made in China, and does nothing for my skin. The PC one definitely lives up to it's promises, plus includes other great ingredients, no nasties or fragrance.
