No matter your skin type or concern, every complexion can benefit from an intense hit of hydration. In spite of the fact that our skin routines fluctuate seasonally — ramping up the richer creams in winter or sticking to lighter cleansers in the summer — there’s one item that remains a staple all year round: a hydrating face mask.
And while you may have employed the help of salicylic acid to clear breakouts, vitamin C to reduce pigmentation, or a retinol serum to slow down the ageing process, these skin care goals will only be possible if your skin is also adequately hydrated.
So, from overnight treatments to 15-minute sheet masks, here are our top eight face masks for hydrating dry skin.
Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask
Hailing from the same line as their best-selling gel moisturiser, the Clinique’s Moisture Surge Overnight Mask leaves skin plump and supple while you sleep. “The creamy concoction will not leave nasty oil patches on your pillow. It clings to the face and neck while you feel like you’re not wearing a mask at all.” – Frenchy1

Which of these hydrating masks are you looking forward to trying?
My kids laugh so much at me in a sheet mask.
My son hides when I have a sheet mask on. He gets scared.
Perversely, I always hope someone comes to the door when I’ve got a sheet mask on – give some delivery guy a scare, haha!
Charcoal masks are really good for that
I haven’t tried any of those masks in the article, most are way too expensive anyway. There are some good cheaper ones available like Sukin. I keep my mask pastes and sheet masks in the fridge, so soothing that way!
Oooo gimme that Clinique Moisture Surge 💦💦
Ooo gimme that Clinique Moisture Surge!! 💦💦
I didn’t even know it existed 😯
I have used it and it is nice.
It is a great one it doesn’t even feel like a mask. It feels like a super hydrating face cream.
My reply disappeared…. I was saying that the Clinique Moisture Surge is a great mask, it does not feel like a mask, rather a very hydrating moisturiser.
Thanks for that. I’ll be getting this for myself asap.
Yes it does!!: )
I haven’t tried any of these. I do love Olay and Palmers – very affordable and effective.
Habitual Beauty for me. Love the pink packaging. 💗
I’ve tried samples of the Clinique and Clarins masks mentioned. Both are excellent!
Most plumping and hydrating so far I found to be LuLuLun masks. Would love to try all listed except Clinique.
I ordered a 5-pack of those Dermalume masks from the RR!
Can’t wait to see how you like them! So, I order in next RR, as stock is left =D
The main image is driving me batty! I want to smooth out all those wrinkles in the mask!
hahah same!
I like to keep my sheet masks and clay/paste masks in the fridge as it makes them extra soothing going on.
I like to keep my sheet masks and clay/paste masks in the fridge as it makes them extra soothing going on.
I haven’t tried any of those in the article, most are too pricey for me. In the warmer months I keep my sheet and clay/paste masks in the fridge, they are so soothing going on.
I cannot seem to reply to Izzy
OK so I can post, just not a reply.
Ah, it is working now…
I was going to say to Izzy, that I have used the Clinique moisture surge mask and it feels like a super moisturising face cream and that I really like it.
I’ve just read your reply Elunia. Thank you 😊. I think we both had trouble commenting as both of our comments have been duplicated.
HAppens with my comments too! I realised why: when BH censors us, does not post our comment…we try again and again until comments finally gets posted. Then few days later BH (I think) “approves” original not posted comments and then we get multiple ones!
I have tried a few hydrating masks but they never really add hydration to my skin long-term. I find consistent use of sheet masks and sleeping masks are the way to go.
You’re the forum’s mask expert, Ethelinde, so I’ll bow to your expertise.
A lot of these types of products are just like a heavy moisturiser.
I like Garnier masks.
I haven’t tried any of these before
I’ve not tried any of those masks buy I like the sound of the Swisse.
But not buy, wishing for an edit feature please
Oh my.. I want all of them. haha but I would like to try a product from Clarins, I’ve never really tried anything from that brand.
I need a new face mask.
I love a sheet mask that fits well. I am a Go-To face mask fan!
I’ve never tried them. My sister loves them though.
Thanks, great ones here.
I use a mask to dry, not hydrate
I haven’t tried any of these yet. Once I use up my stockpile I might have to at least try the Swisse one.
Ooh, I’ll take all the masks! 🙂
Love to use hydrating masks! I want to try all of these!
Some really great masks to try out so many good brands.
Wow I like the sound of all of them. The Nuskin one sounds great as it leaves your skin glowing
I’d love to try the skinceuticals one!
Minessey hydrating masks are good, my skin really enjoyed them!
Clinique and Swisse , didn’t find hydrating at all.
I wouldn’t mind trying the Swisse hydration mask.
They all sound so good!
wish there were a few more affordable recommendations. I am not a huge fan of Swisse skincare.
