Blame it on the weather, the wrong products, hormones or absolutely nothing at all (the most frustrating of all), dry skin flare ups are creeping into our homes and moving in on our faces.
Irrespective of your skin type, you will almost certainly experience dry skin at some point. So, the next time you do, instead of slathering on 10 products in a state of panic, why not apply just one powerful and nourishing face oil that will restore your skin’s soft, supple glow?
It’s important to note, however, that not all facial oils are built the same or serve the same purpose. Some facial oils are light enough to prevent breakouts on oily skin types, while other richer varieties have been specifically formulated to rejuvenate and protect dry skin types.
With ingredients such as almond oil, rosehip oil, and soothing antioxidants, we can reverse dry skin by locking in moisture and supporting a compromised skin barrier. So to make the process as easy as possible, here are our top picks for face oils that will rescue a dry complexion.

Have you tried using a rich facial oil to soothe dry skin? If so, which one have you tried?
I do love a facial oil!
Have yet to try one, but hopefully I’ll feel the same!
I have tried some facial oils but none of these ones. Unfortunately for me they seem to be too rich for my skin or the fragrance in them causes a rosacea flare up. I find if I use one once or twice a week I might get away with it, but usually end up using them on my neck and chest and the skin is nice and soft and hydrated the next day.
good idea to use on your neck -I always forget this area
I have the Esmi 24K gold oil but haven’t opened it yet because I’m still trying to finish a Clarins oil up. I like to mix a drop in with my night moisturiser so it’s taking me forever to get through. The esmi is sitting on my shelf teasing me but I refuse to open it.
what a good idea to add to your night moisturiser
oooh, atm trying and loving Synergie oil. Softens skin, soothes, calms and makes it just feel fab. Reminds me of elizabeth Arden’s ceramide caps
I use rose hip oil the most. Then jojoba and sometimes almond. I’ve tried heaps of different brands and mixes of oils. I love a serum in oil for this time of year.
What brand of serum in oil do you use and recommend?
I love the look of all these and no I haven’t tried any of these -sounds really lovely
Facial oils are not just for dry skin. I love rosehip oil on my oily, blemish-prone skin. I’ve got an unopened bottle of Sukin, but I haven’t tried it yet.
I need to buy up new batches of my oils!
They are great in winter time, so nourishing.
After reading the above, I think I will try the Habitual Beauty Rejuvenating Facial Oil. I don’t use oil too often as it can leave a film on my skin and occasional cause a break out.
I would love to try that midnight oil! It looks very luxe.
I really like Kora Organics Noni Glow Oil but it is expensive.
I tend to avoid anything to do with KORA but if you say it’s good, I trust your opinion!
The Sukin rosehip oil is great! I haven’t tried the others one
Me too. I love it.
There are so many great Skin Oils around these days, love the fact that they cater for different types of Skin Conditions.
I haven’t tried any of these facial oils, but I do always have one in my cupboard.
Love facial oil!
I use facial oil at night. I like the Sukin one
Absolutely love facial oils! My skin is sensitive and often dehydrated so I am always using one. At the moment, I swap between using Prickly Pear Seed Oil – Fatima’s Garden and Virgin Plum Oil – Smoosh. The prickly pear one is also good for skin inflammation.
I do like Weleda products. I have a collection of their body oils.
Their body oils are divine.
The only one I’ve used is Sukin’s Rosehip Oil and it’s great.
Great article, the oils sound lovely
And I read facial oil over your night cream now!!
Interesting. I haven’t tried that!
I love getting new ideas, must try the suggestion of adding it to your night moisturiser.
I use a facial oil but not every day.
Love rosehip oil
I’ve used the Kiehl’s facial oil and it is lovely!
Is it fragranced?
Rosehip oil has been good for my skin.
Great read. I love facial oil
Face oil is my favourite thing to do before apply moisturisers.
Plain grape seed oil mixed with a bit of Sea buckthorn and rosehip.
Carrot seed oil works wonders too!
I’ve tried the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery, it feels lovely on my sensitive skin.
