Our eyes often bear the brunt of our busy lives. Whether it be stress, fatigue, or environmental factors, the eyes will show it if you’re feeling it. Thankfully, eye cream (with a healthy dose of concealer) can swoop in to save the day.
The hydrating product has become our trusted ally in the pursuit of radiant-looking eyes. However, for those with sensitive skin, eye cream can cause more harm than good…
It’s commonly known that the skin under our eyes is the most delicate on our face. As a result, toeing the line between hydration and irritation is essential. If you find yourself experiencing reactions to your regular eye cream, a gentler, more soothing formula might be the perfect fit for you.

The best eye creams for sensitive skin in Australia
Avène Soothing Eye Contour Cream
We say: French pharmacy favourite Avène know their stuff when it comes to sensitive skin. The Soothing Eye Contour Cream has been formulated with easily sensitised skin types in mind and tackles everything from dark circles to under eye bags. Did we mention it’s fragrance-free?
You say: “I bought this in a 2-for-1 pack, after having great success with other Avene products. I thought it was pretty standard, coming out of the tube, just a white light cream and nothing to write home about. But it provides more moisture than any eye cream I’ve tried and fills in the little feather lines around my eyes beautifully. I don’t have dark circles but find using this even when I’m more stressed keeps them looking good.” – MrsRobinson

You say: “Generally, I don’t wear eye creams and use moisturisers instead. After a few days I felt my skin softened around the eyes and any lines and dryness, which I have due to my sensitive skin, were smoothed out.” – Harmony Queen

What eye creams have you tried and loved?
I used mainly budget eye creams: Sukin , Swisse.
My eyes have been so itchy of late. I think either my eye makeup cleanser or my eye cream is having a slight alergic action to my eyes. Maybe?
CeraVe Eye Repair Cream says it is for sensitive skin so perhaps I should try this ??
It is moisturising and fragrance free.
I just use my moisturiser and my under eyes are fine
Have used the Bondi Sands and Cera Ve eye creams.
Both are hydrating but do little to reduce my constant under eye bags.
I can never remember to put on eye cream.
Same here.
Agree. It’s so hard. Always god intentions
Not regular user, but love a good eye serums and creams
I would like to try the Avene eye cream.
I use an eye cream or serum every morning and evening. At present I’m using Liberty Belle Rx Eye Do in the morning, and L’Oreal Revitalift at night.
The L’Oreal Revitalift range is so good, I love it.
My eyes aren’t sensitive, but anything too rich makes me break out or get milia around my orbital bone. I like Olay eye gel.
My fave is the Kiehl’s Avocado eye cream- so hydrating and non-irritating.
I need a eye cream so this has some timely suggestions for me.
Unfortunately I don’t get around to applying eye cream. By the time bedtime comes around I’m exhausted. I do like Nude by Nature products though.
I’ve been using oil all over my face and under eye. I’ve found many great eye creams in budget friendly and more luxe. I do like them to soothe, hydrate, reduce puffiness and reduce dark circles. Recently picked up eye cream from Hada Labo which is hydrating to under eye area
I don’t have sensitive skin but do love educating myself on eye creams though!
I havent really jumped into the eye cream game yet, however I feel it should start. I like the price of the Bondi Sans, wonder if it works!
