SkinCeuticals Silymarin CF
$223 at Adore Beauty
Best for: Oily skin
Review: “I know its quite expensive but for me its an incredible little gem, and I’m so lucky to have found it! Comes in a cute little bottle, it does have that scent of burnt wood, which I don’t mind I suffer from oily and blemish prone skin with the occasional breakouts, horribly enlarged pores and those visible signs of aging. I’ve been using this for almost 3 weeks now and I have seen a dramatic change in my skin. My skin tone has evened out, my pores have reduced in size, I have less oil on my face and I’ve noticed less breakouts which has really boost my confidence big time. ” – Kylskani

Azclear Action Medicated Lotion
$13.49 at Chemist Warehouse
Best for: Hormonal acne
Review: “I still suffer from hormonal acne and I find this product is great for treating active acne. That said, I also manage my hormonal acne with a combination of restricting certain foods and sometimes oral medication when it gets bad. This product certainly does speed up the recovery process. I do find it runs out very quickly though and considering one tube is quite small. I do not experience any irritation while using this.”

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Anti-Acne Skincare Starter Kit
Best for: Teens
$11.69 at Chemist Warehouse
Review: “Bought for my 13 year old daughter who was having skin congestion problems but I didn’t want to use anything that would strip her skin or make it more sensitive to sun. Tried myself of course to so could feel texture and make sure wasn’t too drying. The Effeclar Duo is wonderful and clearing up that congestion, don’t apply to whole face just areas where most needed. The cleanser is gentle and feels like it gets in there and removes all that excess oil as well. Great little pack, well priced and fantastic way to trial full size products first.” – FiLee

Cetaphil Pro Acne Prone Foam Wash
$18.99 at Chemist Warehouse
Best for: Sensitive skin
Review: “I’ve been using cetaphil cleansing foam for the las few years from recommendation by my dermatologist after I had severe reactions with chemical peels a couple years ago. I was skeptical because the price was so affordable! Shouldn’t good skincare cost the world! Well apparently not! There is a very mild scent – hardly noticeable. It does exactly what it says it does. Suited for acne prone skin which I’ve dealt with for many years until now. My skin is clear and if a pimple does show its face it’s small and quickly diminishes away. I’m too scared to try anything else now!” – Thesmith.Girls

Review: “I have been pushing for my boyfriend to expand his knowledge and experiment with some new facial products. He has combination skin but is always complaining about his black heads, I decided to take it upon myself to go shopping for him. At the moment he is using this product, his first response was he liked the big “things”in it as they made his face feel super “clean and smooth”! He noticed that his face became less oily throughout the day after using this product in his morning shower.” – Tahlia31

Eau Thermale Avène TriAcnéal Expert
$27.99 at Adore Beauty
Best for: Adults
Review: “41 yr old female, combination skin, chin blemishes I’m so glad I discovered this product, I have had problems with a few monthly pimples that would not go away, and all the acne products I tried were too harsh for my 41 year old skin. This product feels like a moisturiser, and is recommended for night time use as it does have an interesting orange colour. I applied it to two pimples that would not go away, and over one night, they reduced in swelling and redness was reduced. Amazing.” – Aremum

SkinB5 Extra Strength Acne Control Vitamins
$34.95 at skinb5.com
Best for: Clearing skin from within
Review: “These tablets appear to have worked well for my mild acne. It does take a while to work, didn’t notice any results until I was well onto my second jar (of the 120 tablet size). Having less breakouts, and skin consistency is a lot better. Expensive for fairly mild results, but I would still probably purchase again, to see if I get better results with prolonged use.” – Jacinta89

Have you ever struggled with acne? What’s your favourite acne product?
Luckily I don't have acne
@ThisIsMe You’re lucky!
Thankfully those days are mostly behind me now, but some good tips in there for those who still suffer.
Random breakouts, fine lines and dry skin are my current main concerns – it's almost like my skin can't figure out what age I am.
I had clear skin all through puberty but have stared getting the odd couple hormonal blemishes since Turing 30, so annoying!!!
Thank god for Paula's choice. Always fixes my spots
hate getting pimples around that time of the month. its like clockwork
I am very thankful I have not suffered acne, I do however get hormonal blemishes on the chin area thanks to going through the menopausal stage.
I’m so grateful that I’ve never suffered from acne! Just the occasional zit here and there, but nothing to complain about really.
Any recommendations on products that's effective with battling cystic acne?
