Hooked on honey

Hooked on honey

Thanks to my little cold last week, I’ve developed a small addiction to honey. It started out innocently enough – just a squeeze into my cup of hot water, twice a day. Which became four times a day.

Which turned into eating honey straight from a teaspoon (it wasComvita Manuka Honey UMF 15+, so technically it’s not that bad coz of all the antibacterial, immune system boosting properties).

Now, the addiction has spread to non-food items.

Burt’s Bees alone has enough honey-filled products to make sure I’m never without that sweet syrupy goodness again, but my current fave is its Body Lotion – Milk & Honey. The lotion isn’t heavy or sticky and leaves my skin feeling hydrated (and smelling honey-licious) all day.

Smell factor aside, honey is also great for nourishing and moisturising hair. Palmolive Naturals Sleek & Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner both contain honey balm extracts that work a treat on reducing frizz and keeping hair smooth, hydrated, and shiny.

And for a little ambience, L’Occitane Honey Scented Candles emit a delicious, soft scent that sticks around for the better part of a day. Even unlit, the aroma is so good it sends me straight back to the honey jar…
