Welcome to Beauty Insider February 2024. Where each month we bring you all of the latest beauty news, the best new product launches and the beauty brands we think should be on your radar. It’s a must-read for any beauty lover who wants to be in the know.
Big news in beauty
- Aerin Lauder (yes, granddaughter of Estée Lauder) has an unbelievable resume. Creating style, substance and ultimate luxury from within her family’s brand, Aerin founded her own luxury beauty line AERIN, and most recently served as Style and Image Director at Estée Lauder. Her latest title? Style & Design Director of Estée Lauder’s luxury franchise, Re-Nutriv. The heritage brand has been around since 1956, and Aerin hopes “to revisit the heritage and origin of what makes these products so special, while adding my own personal touch and modern sensibility”. So keep your eyes out for the newest products to come out of Re-Nutriv.
- ICYMI; there’s been a joke going around the internet that Michael Cera is secretly actually the founder and creative director of CeraVe (where else would the Cera come from?). So clearly the only way forward was for CeraVe to completely lean into the idea. Creating a superbowl ad that focuses on the benefits of their moisturising cream while Michael Cera talks about how incredibly moisturised his skin is. Need to see it for yourself? We get it; check out the collab here…
The best beauty launches this month
ghd Chronos
When ghd puts out a new tool, we stop and listen. The masters of all things hair, ghd have re-engineered the straightener entirely. Big call, but hear us out. Having changed up the hinge to a ‘wishbone hinge’ and created the barrel in a smoother rounded edge, ghd have made it easier to craft ultra-high-definition curls. With ultra-gloss (updated) ceramic heated plates, a single stroke of the styler will result in 24 hour hold and unbelievably glossy, shiny results. Not to mention the tool itself is even more responsive to heat monitoring, which leaves you creating your style in seriously speedy time.

Benefit Whoop Lash and 2 Additions to Precisely My Brow
If the title isn’t a give away, Benefit have been very busy bees this year, releasing not one but three new products (and we’re only two months into 2024). Their first release came in the form of ‘Whoop Lash’, which allows you to get the luscious lashes of your dreams without the nasties. This prostaglandin-free formula is packed with plant extracts, rice protein and vitamins. A simple swipe each night and you won’t believe your lashes.
The second launch is a two-for-one deal. Because we know Benefit are the brow experts, we expect nothing less than amazing from their brow launches. And boy, did they blow our socks off. Adding to their already existing ‘Precisely, My Brow’ collection, they’ve dropped two products that are developed to be smudge-proof, a necessary factor for hot sweaty Aussie summers. The first addition is the Detailer; with a microfine tip, these defining hair strokes will add to your filled in brows. Oh and take a dip with it, it’s totally waterproof. The second brow godsend? Wax. This hyper-pigmented sculpting wax is applied with a dual-sided brush. Simple, innovative and with instant payoff, it’s our dream wax come true! And added bonus, all three of these newbies are on sale at Adore Beauty. Run, don’t walk.
Lash Serum $89 from Adore Beauty
Precisely, My Brow Detailer $42 from Adore Beauty
Precisely, My Brow Wax $48 from Adore Beauty
Alya Skin The Miracle Moisture and The Calmer Serum
Alya Skin is yet another new release heavy hitter. Launching two new products designed to complement and add to their existing range, these two products have been flying off the shelves. They’re available to shop from Chemist Warehouse, and if you see them, grab them. The Calmer Serum works to calm and repair skin once impurities have surfaced, so be sure to apply this after using their Pink Clay Mask. And because we think everyone needs a reminder; apply your moisturiser! This Miracle Moisturiser is formulated with polyglutamic acid, which holds four times more moisture than hyaluronic acid. Your skin will feel fabulously plumped and hydrated.

Mukti Hyaluronic Marine Serum
This relaunched formula is coming in bigger and better. With an upgraded organic beauty formula, this hyaluronic acid serum works to hydrate, plump and repair your skin’s barrier. The inclusion of native ingredients such as wakame seaweed (a radiance-reviver) and blue tansy (an anti-inflammatory hero) your skin will be left looking calmer, smoother and visibly rejuvenated.

Go-To De-Crease
Now Zoë Foster-Blake herself claimed that she would never make an eye cream. But here we are. Go-To has finally (thankfully!) launched their first eye cream. After being begged for years by her customers, Zoë relented under one condition: “it had better bloody work”. With clinically-proven results, this gentle yet effective cream features the strongest (and purest) form of retinol: retinal. So, get ready to say goodbye to those pesky crow’s feet because this cream is ready to iron out the creases.

With fast-acting bonamide at play, your strands, bonds and fibres will be completely renewed. The deep-acting treatment will see your strands shinier, smoother and a whole lot stronger.

New to bh…
Hero Cosmetics
If there’s anything we’ve learnt from our social media feeds over the years, it’s that Korean skin care is next level. So, whenever we come across Korean-made products, we already know we’re in for a treat. While it feels like pimples are the end of the world, Hero Cosmetics is here to let you know you’re in charge of the situation, with a simple matter of a small (invisible) sticker to cover that blemish (nixing bacteria while soothing the skin beneath).

Cancer Council Australia Face Day Wear CC Cream SPF50
We say: Aussie summers means a lot of time outside, enjoying good company and incredible scenery. And as much as we try to avoid peak UV times (anything above a UV of 3 is considered dangerous…) and wear protective clothing, we’ve still got to smear our skin with all the sunscreen possible. And what better way to get a dose of our needed (extra coatings of) sunscreen than from a little bit of makeup-meets-SPF? This zinc-based sunscreen applies evenly and gives a quick colour-correcting hit of foundation. You’re saving time and your skin.
You say: “As someone who is allergic to chemical sunscreens I’ve tried out many zinc sunscreens in search of the right one for me. Tinted versions tend to be SPF30 or lower, [however] this SPF50 CC cream resolved [all] issues for me and I am so satisfied! The consistency is not too runny or thick and blends nicely into the skin, makeup sits fine on top of it. It left my skin feeling nourished and not dry or dull [and] it protects my skin from the sun! Couldn’t be happy with the product, especially with how affordable it is.” -kellyrox

Cancer CouncilSPF50 face moisturizer
The elemis eye masks looks awesome
Yes I like the look of them too.
I must admit that my eyebrows could do with a bit of help but the Benefit Whoop Lash and 2 Additions to Precisely My Brow are quite expensive.
The Cancer Council Australia Face Day Wear CC Cream SPF50 looks different from the usual Cancer Council containers and I like it.
It’s good to see Cerave have a sense of humour.
If anything, it would be The Cancer Council CC Cream SPF50.
Curious about the retinal eye cream but I could easily overdo it and price range is probably high.
I would love to try the Cancer Council CC cream, I hope it doesn’t have a white cast though
