Beauty Insider: August 2023

Welcome to Beauty Insider, where each month we bring you all of the latest beauty news, the best new product launches and the beauty brands we think should be on your radar. It’s a must-read for any beauty lover who wants to be in the know.

Big news in beauty

  • Iconic Aussie tan brand, Bondi Sands has been sold for $450 million. The brand which has been sold to Japanese cosmetic giant Kao Corporation will now sit alongside brands such as Biore, Oribe and KMS. Aside from the parent company not much is currently set to change for our fave tan brand, with production to remain in Melbourne and Shaun Wilson (former CEO/co-founder) remaining with the company alongside Blair James who continues on as creative director.
  • After a five month hiatus to ensure her health was in order, Bella Hadid has returned to the modelling stage amidst her ongoing struggle with lyme disease. We’re glad she’s raising awareness and is back feeling healthy and ready to serve some absolute looks on the runway soon.
  • Get your carts at the ready! The long-awaited Afterpay sale is back. It’s hard to choose where to start with so many incredible brands participating. So make sure to scroll through the participating brands (Adore Beauty is on there) and read through reviews to get your best beauty bargain!
  • The vegan beauty awards recently took place on the Gold Coast. Skin O2 was the big winner on the night taking away seven prestigious awards. Having been committed since 2005 to creating the best skin-loving, cruelty-free, vegan products it’s no wonder why they’ve come away winners.
  • Very exciting news for the sensitive skinned amongst us! Ego Pharmaceuticals’ brand QV skincare is launching in Woolworths in early September (previously only available in pharmacies). Select products across their three ranges (body, ceramides and baby) will be available online and in-store to shop.

Ultra Nature Iron Advanced

If you’re anything like us the image of Popeye’s bulging biceps are seared into your mind. All thanks to his trusty canned spinach. Luckily for us, our iron doesn’t need to come from questionable cans. The Ultra Nature Iron Advanced tablets are packed with not only spinach but also spirulina, working in conjunction with vitamin C to assist in healthy red blood cell production. Basically, these are the tablets that Popeye would be taking today. As always, use as directed and seek medical guidance.
