beautyheaven says:
To respect sensitive skin, the Avene Aqua Fluid SPF50+ Sunscreen has been formulated with only the minimum number of chemicals, while still maintaining the highest UVA and UVB protection.
Initial impressions of the compact bottle were that it would easily fit into a handbag, with the flip lid preventing leakage. Plus, the vibrant orange colour helped it to stand out in the bottom of a larger beach bag.
Although most Trial Team members already had a sunscreen in their routine prior to trying Avene’s latest formula, majority voiced that due to the lightweight, “fluidy” consistency and sheen finish, this quickly became their SPF of choice. With its invisible feel and weightless texture, the product absorbed quickly, didn’t pill and left no oily or greasy residue on the skin.
Additionally, the nourishing formula (which is rich in Avene’s Thermal Spring Water) ensured that members with breakout-prone skin experienced no irritation.
All in all, Avene’s latest sunscreen formula ticked every box on our Trial Team members checklist. It blended well with skin care products, sat nicely beneath makeup, provided a high level of protection with the SPF 50+ rating and didn’t cause irritation or excess shine, even on sensitive skin.
For these reasons, members expressed enthusiasm for continuing to use this product as their go-to daily sunscreen.

You say:
“Highly recommended for everyday use. Non greasy so perfect even to apply under the foundation. Only used twice under foundation and my make up was intact the full day without any smudge.” – Dreamy
“This is also for sensitive skin and fragrance free which is also a plus to not have that zincy sunscreen smell others have. Also being light in consistency I found my skin doesn’t break out using this everyday.” – Cathyartup
“Firstly the packaging is very cute and good size. I found the consistency of the product to be very good as well. It wasn’t too thick or too thin and just melted into the skin. It did not leave a greasy residue either which is a huge bonus in a sunscreen. I let it dry a couple of minutes and then followed up with my normal primer and foundation. It did not interfere with the lasting power of my foundation which was great. Will definitely use again!” -Elisa361
“However, it is just brilliant, I loved it. It’s so light and absorbs instantly. It’s non greasy so it doesn’t leave a shiny film on your skin. There is no white ghosting. I loved it so much that I will definitely be buying it again and switching.” – Kitty ocean
Are you excited to try this SPF?
So excited that this is fragrance free. No eye irritation. I currently use the La Roche-Posay version of this sunscreen. Very keen to try.
Same here! I love a gentle fragrance free sunscreen!
Me too. Not keen on any product that has a very strong fragrance
Oh thats’ good that it does not irritate eyes. Most sunscreens water my eyes.
Yes I often find with the heat of the sun my eyes get really with my sunscreen melting
Oh yes, so many of them sting!
Yes! I get that too! It is horrid, my eyes then start to water and they don’t stop!
Have sample of this, will try asap! Do like the packaging look
Oooh! Where did you get the sample Yo?
Yes I would like to give it a whirl even though some sunscreens are fragrance free they still can sting my eyes.
Yes I agree they sting my eyes. Also dont really like spray type sunscreen as I find it difficult to apply to my face.
It is ok to spray directly onto your body but you have to spray it onto your hands before you apply it to your face.
Izzy, I was on the trial for this and didn’t have any problems with my eyes stinging.
That’s great to know!
I have this issue too with stinging eyes!
This is one for me. I would have loved this trial!
I can’t wait to try this!
Sounds like a good one for summer and the beach. Wonder if these ones work under makeup
I’m wondering this as well for light coverage makeup!
It appears to from a couple of the reviews so should be a good one to look at
right near the top of the article it says that “95% agreed that the Avene Aqua Fluid SPF50+ sat comfortably under makeup”
Another thing to add to my list. This looks promising.
I added it to my list as well!
Good reviews.
Very good results. Looks like a great sunscreen.
Thanks for the reviews trial team.
Yes, this looks like a fantastic trial and to learn it has a minimal amount of chemicals makes me even more excited to try it.
Avène makes great products, but I like my Invisible Zinc.
You and me both M8! ❤️
The price, ouch! I didn’t know the price of this when I trialled it, plus we were under strict embargo for everywhere, so no talking about it on any social media or here. I did Google it and couldn’t find anything a few weeks ago. So, I assumed the little container we got was like a sample container but it’s the actual container, 40ml for $27.95. It is a great size for bags and easy to find being bright orange. My lid wouldn’t close anymore after the third use so it stays at home. I did like this sunscreen but will probably stick to my other favourite as it’s half the price of this one and nearly double the size.
It does seem expensive for the size, especially since it’s so easy to use up a lot of sunscreen.
It is pricey S-P and it’s only for the face though, so it should last a little while. I think a big part of the price tag is getting it to Australia from France.
No… they have fixed prices for the Schengen Area. I found this out when I tried to order from an online French pharmacy!
This would have been a great trial to be on.
Thanks for your review @Trackydacky.
40mL for $27.95! Ouch! That’s pricey!
It’s actually on par with IZ Sheer Defence Untinted Moisturiser 50ml ($34 RRP).
It would seem from most of the comments that everyone agrees with you about it being expensive.
Yes that is a bit over the top, but it is quite a large bottle
Wow, it is indeed so expensive but I think Avene is one of the more expensive brands.
Yes, for a pharmacy brand it is quite dear!
Avène is lovely but very exxy for what you get!
yes the price is a bit high for my pocket but possibly will be available on a future Rewards Room ( Hopefully )
I’m with you, for the price I will probably go elsewhere but if it was available in RR, I would probably get it there to test it out.
Now 2022 and it would be nice if it was available in the Rewards Room opening up in May
This is a pricey brand and there are some who are willing to pay for the quality.
I remember going on a holiday to Europe and I ran out of sunscreen whilst travelling through Nice, France and I was looking for sunscreen. There was none in the supermarket and I went into a Pharmacy and everything there was so expensive and I bought the cheapest I could get my hands which was from Bioderma. I think that is the most I have ever paid for such a small bottle of sunscreen. A few days later I was in Spain and I bought a Garnier sunscreen which was 4 times the size and less than half the cost!
It looks great! Keen to try it out
This looks fab! I need to try it! I really like Avene it’s a great brand that doesn’t irritate my skin.
Cool trial!! Congrats ladies!!
I’m just finishing up the Avene face emulsion spf 50 , it left me looking ghost-like, and never sat nicely on my skin. Maybe this one will be better?
I’m the same!
That’s good to know! I was going to try one of their emulsions!
yes please, i must get some
I would think instantly such a product would leave the skin a little greasy. But it’s good to read this one doesn’t do that. I should try other products other than my usual La Roche-Posay
LRP is amazing!
I am looking for a new sunscreen so may try this out.
Oh this is gorgeous looking , i love my sunscreens
Same here. Sunscreen devotee!
Oh man, I would have loved to have been on this trial!
Me too – I have yet to go on a trial so hope I get the chance for something like this
The above photo isn’t loading for me.
This sunscreen looks interesting!
Keen to try this! I’ve always had issues with sensitive combination skin, the reviews sound really positive 🙂
Avène is amazing for sensitive and eczema prone skin!
Sounds like some great results.
Not sure if I would be willing to pay full price for this (50% sale, maybe) but I do wish that I was on this trial!
Eek, just saw the price/size … I think I’d have to wait for a 50% sale too
Fragrance-free, non-greasy, lightweight sunscreen, yes definitely keen to try this one.
I must try this sunscreen the reviews are amazing. I go through so much as I am always outside rain hail or shine.
WHY was there an age limit on this? It sounds super but age limit discrimination drives me bonkers for something everyone should use.
No idea re the age limit on this one Trish as I am nearly 65 and been using it for a while now. Yes it is super and I highly recommend.
Adding this to cart as soon as I can but nice to have all these reviews to read beforehand.
Congratulations to those on this trial. I refuse to see why the cut off age was 60. Those over that are good candidates too.
Yes I agree, cut off age at 60 is a bit early.
Whats wrong with over 60? What is the difference when it comes to using Sun Tan Lotion?
I have been using this sunscreen for a while now and absolutely love it for my face. It doesn’t leave that white sheen that other brands do and it is so light alone or under your makeup. It’s my choice of sunscreen all the time. Love this brand.
Good to know.
I have never seen this sunscreen on the shelves. I guess that I have not been looking very well?
Such wonderful reviews, but did not win an Glosscar. What a SHAME
I would love this.
Some good reviews here.
