Do you ever find your night-time make-up look doesn’t quite hit the mark? Or your complexion isn’t benefitting very much from your skin care regimen, no matter how diligent you are with your products?
Sure, the problem could be with the products themselves – but it’s sometimes just as likely to be a matter of timing.
Some products work best in the AM, while others come to the fore overnight. Read on to find out whether you’re using your hair, make-up and skin care go-tos at the best times of the day…
Products you should use during the day:
Day cream
It’s called day cream for a reason – because it’s formulated to help protect your skin from daytime aggressors such as UV rays, pollution and environmental stressors. Day creams make your skin look more energised and glowy and are best worn under cosmetics as their light, non-greasy formulas absorb quickly into the skin– your best bet for long-lasting make-up!

Lip and cheek tint
A lip and cheek tint is a fantastic product to have on hand during the day. Why? It delivers a subtle hint of colour without being too OTT, which is generally what we prefer during daylight hours. It’s also super easy to apply on the run, when you’re rushing from meeting to coffee date to goodness knows where else. Of course, you can still use a tint at night, but for stronger party selfies, we recommend layering it with a lippie.

Hair removal products
If you’re making the effort to shave, you probably want a decent amount of fuzz-free time for your trouble, which leads me to the question: Why, unless there’s a night-time event you need to prep for at the last-minute, would you remove hair from your bod before bed? No one’s going to appreciate your smooth pins while you sleep, which means you’re basically throwing away eight hours of hair-free glory. Be smart and shave/wax/etc. in the AM.

Moisturisers with SPF don’t offer enough sun protection for Australia, in my opinion. My skin can’t absorb moisturiser & SPF, so I choose sunscreen as the more important.
Before I had IPL hair removal, I used to epilate, usually at night, so I didn’t have red spots when I went out.
