Way back when I first started using skin care, my routine followed a K.I.S.S principle. It was all about a cleanser, exfoliant and moisturiser. That’s it. And it worked. But recently, I’ve got caught up using technical and tricky products. While I’m definitely reaping the benefits of these highly-scientific and -researched skin care products, I forgot about one of the most basic but important pillars of skin care. Moisturiser. Now that winter has arrived I’m seeing the downside of not using moisturiser. Fine lines and dry skin.

I’ve been so focused on taking from my skin that I forgot to give back to it. Admittedly, I love anti-ageing treatments full of smoothing ingredients such as salicylic acid. But what I forgot to do is strike a balance between exfoliating ingredients with ones that nourish my skin like moisturiser.
So I was happy to review Grand Nature Placenta Moisturising Cream. Containing lanolin, it’s all about rehydrating the skin. But it also contains hydrolysed placenta protein that helps to renew.
I scooped out the rich cream from inside the tub and massaged it into my skin. It didn’t feel greasy or heavy and absorbed quite easily. The cream has a strong chemical-like smell but that dissipates within seconds of applying it. Immediately after applying the cream, my skin felt softer and didn’t look as dry. I also noticed that my makeup went on more smoothly and stayed in place longer. Score!
