Ada Nicodemou has taken us into her bathroom as she shares her budget-meets-boujee skin care regimen. After discovering a dupe for a beloved (and very expensive) foundation in her local supermarket, we quickly realised that Ada knows a thing or two about finding a beauty routine that delivers results. In a video shared to her Instagram, Ada ran her followers through her “winter skin tips”. Talking viewers through her morning and nighttime routine, Ada highlighted a number of nourishing and dry skin-fighting products (including one specifically formulated for the feet). However, the biggest takeaway of all? Her brilliant mix of luxe serums and oils with old favourites from the drugstore.
Though spring is around the corner, we’ve still got a few chilly weeks ahead, which means now’s not the time to start getting complacent on those hydrating face and body routines. So to ensure you’re keeping your skin fresh, smooth and soft, here are the products Ada swears by to stop her skin from drying out…
Ada’s ‘splurge and save’ facial serums…
Splurge:
Along with a cleanser, Ada likes to use “active ingredients and serums.” Her potions of choice? To begin, the Home And Away actress applies Rationale’s #1 Serum ($182 at Rationale) which contains vitamin C and niacinamide to brighten and soothe.
Following on, she uses the Rationale #2 Serum ($174 at Rationale). Part of the Vitality Collection, this serum is all about keeping the skin looking firm, supple and radiant.
And as for the night? She incorporates (you guessed it) a third Rationale product, the #5 Serum ($172 at Rationale). “I’m obsessed with Rationale,” she laughed. Can you blame her?
Save:
You can breathe a momentary sigh of relief because not all of Ada’s skin care routine will set you back more than $150 per product. As a way to maintain hydration after applying her active ingredients, Ada uses the MECCA MAX Watercooler Calming Hydration Serum ($25 at MECCA), which she says will “leave your skin feeling nice and dewy.”
Ada’s splurge and save body care…
Splurge:
Now that the face has been taken care of, it’s time to nourish from the décolletage down. That’s where Ada turns to Clarins’ Tonic Body Treatment Oil ($75 at Clarins). Picking up her near-empty bottle she said “as you can see I love it, cause i’ve used so much of it.”
Formulated to suit all skin types, we can understand why Ada can’t get past the beautiful smell. Made from 100 per cent pure plant extract, the toning body oil has been infused with rosemary, geranium and mint to give it its fresh fragrance, which in our opinion can just about double as a perfume.
Save:
Though working alone the body oil would be enough to adequately hydrate dry skin, Ada takes it one step further by combining it with NIVEA Q10 Rich Firming Lotion ($5.99 at Chemist Warehouse). “I’ve been using [this moisturiser] basically since it first ever came out. I think this is the best moisturiser ever.” A huge call from the actress but she’s got the points to back it up. “It’s sold everywhere, it’s not too expensive and it doesn’t leave your skin feeling really oily,” she explained. What’s not to love?

What do you think of Ada’s skin care routine? Have you tried any of these products?
I haven’t tried any of these, she uses some very expensive products
The Mecca Max Watercooler serum sounds nice. I’ve been using the Mecca Cosmetica Skin Brightening Serum which I love
I was thinking that it sounded interesting too and not too expensive either
There is a mix of expensive and a top up of reasonable -wierd
I use Nivea body lotion at the moment, great value for money.
Some great dupes, I also like the sound of the MECCA MAX Watercooler Calming Hydration Serum.
Nice to see some affordable options. Unfortunately Adas splurge products are too expensive for me to try.
I haven’t tried any of these! The firming lotion sounds nice
I found that really lovely
I was given that nivea lotion. Smell so strong! Could not use it up, do not like smelling like soap all day
its called botox and filler, no offense
Filler a bit too much, especially cheeks. All good when things are done to enhance natural beauty (like light makeup thingy), but not when it changes the face altogether.
Yeah her cheeks look ridiculous
She obviously doesn’t live to a budget -I have used the Nivea body cream and love it
Ada Nicodemou has an amazing Skincare Routine but for me I couldn’t afford the Products she is using accept for the Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion.
I must try the Nivea moisturizer. My mum always used Nivea and had amazing skin.
The expensive ones are super expensive. Perhaps if I save up my birthday and Christmas presents for a couple of years I could ask my daughters to buy one of them ?
Yes I couldn’t justify the splurge ones however if you can afford it why not !
More splurge than save!
I came here to say that!
Sounds cool! X
I haven’t used any of these products.
Good to see some budget friendly options.
I much prefer the “save” category, lol
I haven’t heard of either of the serums but I love Nivea body lotions, they smell divine
Not really fussed with anything in the article. Glad it works for her.
I haven’t tried any of these products before.
Rationale make the smallest bottles ever too
I would like to know more about the brand footlogix though and the hand cream brand too
Ive never tried any Rationale products but I have tried something similar to the Clarins body oil – I think the Dermalogica one is beautiful and sounds similar to the Clarins as its botanical based too
I like the way she explains everything.Very informative.I love Nivea body lotion too.
I am using the MECCA MAX Watercooler Serum at the moment and loving it! It definitely adds hydration to my skin and leaves it feeling brighter, softer and dewier.
Worth purchasing!
I’d try the ‘save’ options; couldn’t afford the ‘slurges’
I grew up using Nivea, but haven’t used it in years as there’s so many new and more natural products out now.
I always find Nivea a good choice. Good value but so are other brands. Sometimes.
$180 is a bit much for me. Looks really nice though.
Way too much for most people I think.
they look like lovely products, a little out of my price range but hopefully one day ill get my hands on one
Want to try Rationale someday
I also use a mix of splurge and save products
I don’t know who she is…
Those splurges are well beyond my budget.
I don’t use any of those. Some/most of it is too rich for my wallet.
I’ve only used the nivea firming out of those products. I had not even heard of the expensive brand she uses before.
I love Nivea body lotions. They are my go-to, and they work well.
Ada is so gorgeous, I read this article with great interest.
And I bet she didn’t pay for any of these products. Bet they’re all “gifted”.
Wouldn’t that be good.
Whatever she is doing is working!
4 serums is a lot! I don’t think my skin could absorb that much!
I’ve used the Mecca Max Watercooler Serum, it didn’t do anything for me.
