The good news is, no one is immune from them. Even the makeup vloggers struggle.
Now, some of our favourite youtube stars have opened up to Refinery29 about how they deal with pimples. And considering these vloggers are known for their beauty and makeup expertise, we are taking some notes!
#1 Mykie (Glame&Gore)

Mykie used to suffer from bad acne. Her secret to covering up her pimples is to pat down the product onto the pimple. Otherwise, if you sweep the product over it, it will move and thin out.
She recommends using a sponge or clean beauty blender to do this.
Our bh members like the EcoTools Perfecting Blender Duo, Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge or Natio Complexion Perfection Foundation Sponge.
#2 Patrick Simondac (Patrick Starrr)

If Patrick feels a pimple coming he puts Lush Tea Tree Water on the spot, the night before. When he wakes up he drinks lots of water and will put ice on the pimple if it’s puffy.
To prevent pimples coming back, Patrick believes the number one rule is taking your makeup off. He pours Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil into a bag of face wipes. He then shakes the pack before using.
#3 Jessica Kalil (Gorjessfx)

To camouflage acne, Jessica uses colour correctors. She warns that it can be easy to get carried away when covering up blemishes, so recommends light layers.
If you want to colour correct, you could try the Innoxa Cover & Correct Cream Concealer Face Palette, e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Tone Correcting Powder or L’Oreal Professionnel Vitamino Color A-OX Colour Correction Cream.
#4 Christina (Chrisspy)

Christina also favours colour correcting. She says it is easiest to do after the red phase of a pimple. When it turns blue, she uses a bit of orange concealer on top of her foundation to counter the dark colour, and then adds a little more foundation to match her skin tone.

According to Alexys, the biggest mistake you can make is over-drying pimples with too many acne treatment products. Alexys makes sure her skin is always really hydrated so it continues to look good on camera.
