Touch of Silver Intensive Conditioner

This conditioner comes in a pale lilac colour which looks great in the bottle. This contrasts with the dark purple tones of the associated shampoo and means that it's easy to distinguish between the two when you're in the shower without your glasses! I used this conditioner in conjunction with the shampoo. I found that when used together, there was quite a strong hairdresser/ chemical fragrance that lingered for a number of hours, and as I didn't like the smell I found this to be quite off-putting. I found that I needed to use a lot of conditioner in order to feel as though my hair was covered in an adequate amount of product; as a result, I used all of the conditioner a lot sooner than the shampoo. My hair was reasonably soft after use, however I also found it to be quite frizzy and difficult to style when comparing to other shampoo/conditioner combos that I have used in the past. In terms of the colour of my hair - I didn't really experience any noticeable shift in the tone of my blonde, although I don't feel that I left it on as long as I should have.

I love touch of silver shampoo. I have a balayage hair colour. This shampoo was recommended to me by my hair dresser, as I didn't want to splash out on a more expensive shampoo for the ends of my hair but still wanted to down down the brassy tones in my very expensive hair colour to make it last as long as possible. I only leave it on for a few minutes and it seems to do the trick, keeping the brassy tones at bay. Because the ends of my hair have been treated they are naturally dry out. I have always followed the shampoo with a heavy duty conditioner and hair mask. This made me concerned I wasn't getting the full potential out of the shampoo. I'm so glad there is a touch of silver conditioner, I'll grab it next time I hit the supermarket.

I love that this an affordable shampoo I can pick up on my weekly grocery shop. This is very effective in toning out yellow and brassy tones in natural and bleached blonde hair. Try concentrating the product on the roots (or where the most persistent brassy tones are) and work the product down as it can stain highly bleached areas grey, silver and purple. Any over toned areas usually disappear by the second wash I do find this shampoo really dries out my hair and requires a good conditioning treatment afterwards It does cause slight staining of the skin but a good scrub gets rid of any purple fingers.

This is a product that is very obviously designed as a companion to the Touch of Silver shampoo, and probably wouldn't work that well on its own. In contrast to the deep purple of the shampoo, this conditioner is a very pretty light purple. The scent is very subtle, and the product generally is easy to use. I found that around a 20 cent piece worth of conditioner did my lob nicely . It settled into the hair really well, and rinsed out without leaving any residue, or any heavy feeling. But it just didn't conditioner that well. After towel drying, my hair was a frizzy bird's nest that took some combing to get back into shape. Between the shampoo and conditioner, my colour dyed hair did appear brighter. But it was also left very dry and difficult to manage.

This is my all-time favourite shampoo. My natural colour is mousy brown, but now going grey.... this shampoo leaves just enough colour behind to tone down those
yellow-orange tinges. I leave the shampoo in my hair for 2 to 3 minutes to let the purple foam do it's cleaning and toning, and then I rinse and condition. My hair is now a gorgeous ash blonde. So I will keep using this shampoo forever, as long as I have hair!
