GAIA Natural Baby – Baby Massage Oil

Originally we purchased this to use as a labour aid, but due to the circumstances surrounding my birth, we didn't get to use it. However, my baby is one of those that doesn't poop every day (this is common with breastfed babies - who knew?!) and as a result gets wind build up in his belly. I use this oil at least once a day on his belly to massage it yo help him relieve the gas pressure, and it works brilliantly! It has a light scent that doesn't seem to bother him, and absorbs easily into his skin leaving him soft and smooth. Excess is easily cleaned up with baby wipes.

I was the lucky winner for a big GAIA Prize Pack - thank you. In the prize pack is this GAIA Natural Baby - Baby Massage Oil. I have previously used the GAIA Natural Baby Massage Oil when my daughter was much younger (approximately 3 years ago). I remember not liking this product as it dries out her skin. Her skin became itchy and we had to stop using the product. A couple of years ago, GAIA had to re-package their products due to misleading claim of being "natural and organic" and copped an ACCC fine. This product that I've received as a prize looks different to that I've used before. I suspect that it has been re-formulated as well as this product does not seem to make her skin dry or itchy (or perhaps her skin has grown to be more resilient). However, I find this product not a good "massage" oil as it gets absorbed into skin so quickly and a large amount is needed to really do a "massage" without friction. What really worked well as a massage oil for her, was the GAIA BELLY OIL! A little goes a long way for long lasting nourishment.

I purchased the gift/travel set of the GAIA baby products when I was pregnant with my first born. I wanted to try something natural and organic for my baby but wanted to try them in smaller sizes I case it wasn’t right. Safe to say I purchased all of the products in full size. The massage oil is so relaxing both of my baby’s really enjoyed their massages with this oil and it was so gentle on their skin and kept it soft.

I was gifted this in a travel/sample size when i was pregnant with my first born and loved it so much I never used anything else and brought it while he was a baby then after baby number two and while she was a baby. I would add it to baths and sometimes when they had cradle cap I would put in on those areas and comb it lightly through. It would really nourish their skin. My kids also really enjoyed being massaged also I would massage this into their skin all over or just areas like their tummy when I would massage it for wind.
