Collagen + Peptide Eye Serum

I used this eye cream from Ella Bacha 6 months ago due to reading reviews from the website. I really like the structure of the product, it's very soft and absorbs quickly into the eyes. I feel the softness of my eyes after each use. And what I like most about the eye cream is that the nozzle has a very convenient eye massager. I bought them during the website's sale so I would get a better price after I used them up. I haven't bought them again because the pre-sale price of the product is quite high.

I've been using Ella Bache Collagen+ Peptide Eye Serum on my left undereye area. This comes in a white 15ml squeeze tube with a twist off lid which reveals a slanted metal applicator which is used to gently smooth the serum in. The serum is an off white almost pale beige colour. When it comes to eye creams and serums I usually apply to one so I can compare results of a different brand on my other eye area. This serum plumps up and hydrates my under eye area. I like when a product comes with an applicator already in situ but I found this tube really difficult to dispense the right amount of serum. The Eye Serum has lasted me absolutely ages and could have lasted a lot longer but when I squeezed the sides of the tube gently a lot more product than I needed would come out. I would recommend it but I probably wouldn't repurchase it as I found that very frustrating.

I've purchased this via the Rewards Room and have been enjoying the de-puffing effects from using this. It's a serum that I put around my eyes area booth on the lids, around the eyes and under the eyes. My puffiness, thought not atrocious, has definitely noticeably disappeared. I did have some puffiness but it is gone. I've been using it for three weeks so far. I love that it's not greasy and very lightweight. I put it on after applying my essence/lotion all over my face. This eye serum goes on next and then I apply face serum to the rest of my face areas and neck. This serum has next to no scent and it sinks in instantly. I'm loving the extra attention it gives to my eyes area by pampering it with hydration that lasts. I love it's fancy active ingredients - I feel like this is a luxury eye serum. There are ceramides, algaes, and polysaccharides (sugars?) and I don't think there are any nasties at all in this. I feel a little fancy using French skincare but this particular ella bache product is actually made in Australia. There is a fine metal nozzle for massaging around the serum so fingers never have to touch the face but I still use my fingers a bit to apply this. The massager is great though for when I feel like smoothing the serum from the inner corners to the outer corners of my undereye areas. It is cooling and the metal massage nozzle isn't has big as I've tried on some other brands either so it gets right into the corners easily. After massaging this in, I like to add my eye cream to seal in all the good work that this is doing. Using both eye serum and eye cream makes me feel confident I'm doing everything possible to make my eyes nourished, look their best and protected from moisture loss or damage.

The peptides This eye serum contains matrixyl 3000 (a combination of 2 peptides) and dipeptide. Matrixyl 3000 is a widely used active ingredient that stimulates collagen production and backed by science. Dipeptide has been reported to reduce puffiness. What about collagen? The eye serum also contains "hydrolized collagen". "Hydrolized" simply refers to the process of breaking down of bigger collagen molecules into smaller molecules, often in a random fashion. Hydrolized collagen may have a temporary smoothing effect but as opposed to short peptides that have specific molecular targets, it cannot be absorbed into or incorporated into skin. Other ingredients This eye serum has packed almost as many good ingredients that an eye product can contain. Apart from the peptides, it has a variety of humectants, emollients, fatty acids (from plant oils), antioxidants and most importantly, ceramides and cholesterol. The eye serum costs $99 but in my opinion it is well worth it. Application & results Initially, I found that this eye cream tends to pill with most of my foundations, some tinted moisturisers and cream eye shadow. It took me a while to work out what makeup products I can layer on this eye serum. Once I have worked this out, I have been using it twice a day. The eye serum feels thick and creamy - personally I have always used it as an eye cream - and the only eye care product. It gives me an instant tightening and slightly heated sensation that lasts about half a minute. Because of that heated sensation I recommend to start with a smaller amount at the beginning and gradually build up the amount to be used. It is worth mentioning that the applicator is a piece of smooth, cooling metal. The cooling sensation from the metal applicator helps to balance that tightening and heated feeling. As with most other products, it takes time to see results. There wasn't any observable change in the first two months. By the third month, I can honestly say that I am seeing less fine lines under the eyes. I can also confidently say that my makeup and concealer is creasing a lot less under my eyes - so I truly believe that Matrixyl-3000 is effective. As to the claim that dipeptide can reduce puffiness, I don't have puffy eyes issue so I can't really comment on it based on experience. However, I think that my dark circles are somewhat less obvious, as some days I can go without undereye concealer. Overall I am very happy with it. This eye serum has given me the best results out of all other eye creams I have used. The only disadvantage is the amount of pilling that I have experienced, but it is something that I am willing to work around because of its effectiveness.
