Becoming a mum can be both the happiest and most overwhelming time of your life. But if there’s one thing we find that helps (aside from a quiet bath alone with the door locked) is the advice and recommendations of other mums.
When it comes to baby’s skin, there’s a lot of information and different products out there. So how do you know what’s right for you and your family?
In the video above, we asked three mums (Simone, Alyce and Asa) what they look for when shopping for baby products, as well as get their thoughts on La Roche-Posay’s bub-friendly picks.
Good to know info:
- Cicaplast B5 Balm is suitable for babies from 3 months of age.
- The Lipikar range is suitable for newborns.
- La Roche-Posay’s skin care range is recommended by dermatologists.
And if you’re after more information on these products, you can check out the reviews from other members here:

What do you look for when shopping for baby products? Have you tried La Roche-Posay?
I am a huge fan of La Roche-posay for sensitive skin. Their products are just so gentle for me.
I love LRP for this reason too.
I love using La Roche-Posay’s sunscreens for my toddler. They’re truly amazing.
Never tried their sunscreen but maybe it’s time to start!
Been very many years since I have had to shop for baby products but I always went for products for sensitive skin. The less products I used on my bubs the better.
Same here Meedee!
Yep, keeping it simple is better for their skin!
Nice gentle products. I’m not a bub but I use the Cicaplast balm!
How do you rate it?
So many great Products for Babies Skincare, like Roche-Posay’s products for Babies Sensitive Skin, but they could be used by those of us that have Sensitive Skin as well.
It’s great how it can be useful for anyone in the family.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had to buy these kind of things for babies. I don’t remember what I used to buy for them. I do like La Roche Posay products, they are very gentle.
I didn’t look into La Roche Posay when I was having mine. We had Johnson’s Lavender baby bath!
I have issues with J&J nowadays because of their ethics…
Have LRP been around for that long? I only remember Johnson’s and Johnson’s.
Love La Roche Posay really good brand and products that can help achieve results
Great for my skin too a very interesting article.
I can’t remember the products I used for my baby’s skin (long time ago) but I like the look of these LaRoche Posay products. Looking forward to using them on any future grandchildren 🙂
This is great for mums to be
I will look into this!
My newborn is 3 weeks old now!
Belated congratulations!
Belated thank you!!
LRP has good products
Lovely to see the three beautiful Mums and their young ones.
I’ve used their oil shower cleanser years ago. Good stuff, but scent not my fave (french pharmacy typical “floral” soapy scent). Wonder what the body balm is like.
I thought LRP was fragrance free Yo?
I think some of their products do have fragrances.
My youngest baby is a toddler now but I always looked for the products that had the gentlest or as natural as I could get my hands on.
I really love the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Balm actually, but have seen it recommended by mums before.
I’ve only tried LRP sunscreens, but I don’t have kids (Hallelujah!) & my skin isn’t sensitive.
Yay! Child free and footloose and fancy free! I love my kids and love your choice equally!
I found that QV and Cetaphil non irritating. I have only La Roche Posay SPF on myself.
Loved the video – out of my league now – but so lovely to see new mum’s enjoying themselves on camera with their cuties!
Gorgeous for sure!
We’ve used QV on our bub since he was born and it has been so gentle on his skin.
Lovely brand and beautiful video.
Natural products are the way to go for baby’s ever so delicate skin
Not relevant to me (I don’t have children), but good information for mums.
Great article and video!!!
I have tried La Roche-Posay’s eye makeup remover, but that’s all.
La Roche Posay products worked wonders when I had really terrible red sensitised skin, and I use it on my kids too
I like the sound of LRP and would like to try some of their products but will keep an eye out for specials at CW, some of the are a bit exxy
a very well priced and nice brand
Lovely to see nice natural products for bubs and what a lovely gift to a new mum
Cute video!
Beautiful video and some great picks. For my baby, I used Aveeno baby products and they were quite good too, I don’t think they are 100% natural (I may be wrong) but they worked well.
Nice to see mums sharing with their babies.
I like La Roche-Posay products but I know I didn’t use them on my son when he was a baby.

It is lovely – I love it too – real life!
I wish we had such great product ranges when I was going through this stage – and I wish bh existed back then to come to think of it!!! Actually I was a member of bh at the tail end of me being a mum of littlies – I think my youngest was 2 when I started being a member on bh and now that littlie is 17!
Oh wow! What memories!
I remember the fun times like these – always exciting reaching the different milestones! Exciting time!
Such a thoughtful article!

Something exactly like this as my friend used on her new baby and said best product and she felt happy and son using on baby.
Fragrance free and safe ingredients are top priorities for my skincare and my kids’ skincare!
I love EcoStore products for my daughter. So gentle, natural based, and no harsh chemicals.
They sound like very gentle products.
I’d love to try some LRP products!
