Why we want to high-five Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde’s come out swinging talking about her post-baby bod – and we want to give her a massive high-five.

Chatting to Shape magazine, the cover star was refreshingly honest about the front page’s accompanying photoshoot, saying the photos were “generously constructed” to show her best angles. She was also upfront about the power of good lighting:

“And I assure you, good lighting has been warmly embraced. The truth is, I’m a mother, and I look like one.”

She then joked that her post-baby body is “the softest” it’s ever been – “including that unfortunate semester in high school when I simultaneously discovered Krispy Kreme and pot” (hilarious).

Wilde also made these bang-on comments:

“I believe in a world where mothers are not expected to shed any physical evidence of their child-bearing experience. In that same world, I believe there is space for exercise to be as much a gift to your brain as it is your body. I don’t want to waste my time striving for some subjective definition of perfection. I’d rather rebuild my strength while dancing my ass off.. literally.”

*Cue applause*

Olivia also admitted she has no time for a unrealistic post-pregnancy diet – which made us love her even more (is that even possible?!). “I like beer,” she says. “And pizza. And these two ingredients are not found in the purely fictional book I like to call How to Look Like You Never Made a Human: A Guide to Socially Acceptable Motherhood.“

AMEN to that! Is Miss Wilde the new post-baby Beyonce? We think so!
