We’re big lover’s of blush year-round, but when winter rolls into town, that’s when rouge really shines.
And if you were looking for a way to really get your apples looking illuminated and fresh this season, we’ve just discovered a game-changing hack that’ll do just that.

In an Instagram story posted to @welovecoco (an account of beauty enthusiasts showcasing all things Chanel makeup and skin care, aka boujee town) model @jessicaclements produced her ultimate dewy, ‘fresh as a daisy’ makeup look:

Featuring a peachy eye, lightly contoured bronzed glow and a slightly overlined lip, the whole thing was a dream to watch, but it was Jessica’s blush application trick that really caught our attention.
Using Chanel’s newest product (of course), the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid in Pearly Glow, Jessica pumped a few drops of the liquid onto the back of her hand. Then, using a beautyblender, she picked up some of the highlighting fluid and dabbed it straight into her powder blush. In this case, the pan in question was Chanel’s Joues Contraste Rouge Profond.
With both products combined on the sponge, Jessica then dabbed the mix onto the apples of her cheeks and lightly across the bridge of her nose. She cited the technique as being similar to creating your “own luminous cream blush”.
We have to say, we’d considered liquid-to-liquid mixing before, but the combination of textures had us intrigued.
As curious as we are? Here’s some of our favourite blush and illuminators that we think would make an excellent mix:
Bobbi Brown Blush, Models Prefer Blush, CLINIQUE Blushing Blush Powder Blush, Nude by Nature Virgin Blush, Benefit High Beam Liquid Highlighter, Maybelline New York Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter, CLINIQUE Up-Lighting Liquid Illuminator

Lovely look. Would love to afford Chanel.
Reminds me I need a new blush.
I love the peachy eye
I’d be worried about ruining the pan of blush! I’ll stick with separate application.
She certainly looks awesome. Illuminator is something that I tend to over look.
Just so pretty – I love the healthy glow look!
Wow I love this idea. I’ll definitely try it out for myself.
I’ve never tried it, and probably it’s not for me, but Jessica certainly looks amazing with her fresh peachy look.
Interesting to know but I am over sponges. It’s my fingers only for me
Oh Chanel is simply beautiful
The models makeup is beautiful. I wish I owned Chanel makeup products.
That’s a nice glowy finish, I like it!
I think pinks are better for me… I’m a Nars girl.
Me too! I don’t think I will be trying that.
okay very creative!! a little like mixing a cake mix with a bit of creative genious! Makes me realise I need to get more creative with my makeup this winter!!
Tend to stick to Rose Pink Blush most of the time, never thought about mixing colours will have to try it out myself. For a colour change.
I’ve just bought a new blush, but I don’t think I would try this.
Not a hack I had ever heard of but I might give it a go
Jessica is sooooo pretty!
Blush does not suit me, so I don’t wear them.
I don’t wear much if any blush as my cheeks tend to flush anyway, but maybe I should experiment with the things I have in my stash – nothing to lose.
I have a natural ‘blush’ so don’t use this make up product
Great tip!!!
I only like a hint of colour ……nothing too cheeky for me 😀
I prefer a matte blush, but love the idea of mixing products
I wouldn’t tip into blush powder directly but perhaps a palette or back of hand.
I like the glow.
oh i am very very tempted, i haven’t bought high end makeup for so long now
Looks good
It is really beautiful!
Very glowy and looks great.
This is great.Would try this next time.
Looks great
Jessica would probably look as fresh as a daisy without blush.
gorgeous look, would love to give it a go!
I put a blush on my eyelids yesterday and it wore really well and I loved the look of it too.
I’ve been adding blush over my highlight (both powder) so its softens and combines, this is an interesting way to combine two different product types
This is a good way to ensure you’re not heavy on the blush.
Thanks for the handy tip clearcrystalwater alot of people asked me also for this handy tip.
Wow what a technique I’ve never thought of before! Was never really a fan of blush but now it’s something I do here and there. I will be trying this technique
Blush is not for me – have my own, inbuilt red cheeks
Great idea, will certainly try it.
Wouldn’t the powder blush go cakey/tacky/yuck?
Sounds so lovely
I’ve reported the spam by kathymels and BeautySwan88.
Again, crap spammer comments.
I always use a blush but only on my cheeks, would not consider putting on my nose, and why would you!
My Channel blush is only for special occasions though.
A beautiful ‘fresh look’. Thanks for the tip!
