Victoria Beckham is all about encouraging her family’s shared passion for makeup. Whether David is moonlighting as a makeup artist or VB and her youngest daughter Harper are bonding over their favourite cleansing pads, there’s no shortage of beauty talk in the Beckham household.
However, that’s not to say these interests don’t come without rules. OK, maybe not so much for David, but for 11-year-old Harper, her keen interest in makeup has been limited to existing only within the four walls of her home.
What is Victoria Beckham’s makeup rule for Harper?
“She’s been able to do a full face and contour for quite some time. She’s good at doing it very naturally,” Victoria told The Times.
And if you thought an endless supply of Victoria Beckham Beauty would be more than enough, VB revealed: “Going to Space NK is her favourite treat after school. If she does well in a test, I’ll take her down the road, it’s her favourite thing.”
However, when it comes to actually leaving the house, Victoria’s hard and fast rule is that Harper is to be entirely makeup free. We think that’s a pretty fair rule. However, we can’t help but have a little giggle considering it was only recently that VB let David see her without her “brows on” for the first time in, well, ever.

What do you think about Victoria’s rule for Harper wearing makeup?
A good rule, when she’s older she won’t need any practice either.
Too young for makeup. Don’t like it on kids.
I agree. I wouldn’t even be thinking of makeup at age 11.
Hard not to when you mum has her own brand.
Yep and she’s already an expert at it!!
Seems like a good rule
I only ever had one rule in my house of three girls – they weren’t allowed to swing on the curtains! : )
That’s a great rule! haha
MMM was this a thing !!LOL
So glad that Victoria is so down to earth with her daughter Harper, I am sure that I have seen Harper wearing minimal makeup when she has been out.
They look so good together
I think it’s a good rule but don’t agree with the choice of dress that Harper is wearing above because it’s showing her chest.
she looks like her dad
They look like a really good family
i agree 11 is too young to wear makeup out.
Never too early to learn skin care and I am sure Victoria teaches Harper this too.
Just sunscreen and lipgloss
I wasn’t even thinking about makeup when I was her age. My parents were so strict that they didn’t let me use nail polish when I was an older teenager.
I like Space NK too!
Harper is only 11.
Good rule, let kids stay kids for as long as they can.
Harper looks a lot like dad
She doesn’t need makeup at that age
Harper is gorgeous without make up.
Not sure I think it’s necessary for an eleven year old to be wearing makeup
That’s sweet trying to keep her innocence.
11 Is too young for make-up; let her skin be free and natural all the time
I do think that’s a sensible rule. I’ve told my daughter we’ll discuss it when she becomes a teenager – fortunately she’s pretty happy with that.
Can’t believe she can already do a full face with contour at 11 years old!
It does seem like a good rule.
I like this rule. I don’t allow my girls to do the make up.
Fair enough! It could be a good lesson for her child to love her natural beauty
I was allowed to wear Makeup when I was 12. I loved it, I still love it. My kids can wear it out if they want. In fact my daughter had a celebration of the Matildas day at school today, so wear green and gold was the directive. She is 8.i did one eye glittery gold, the other glittery green, with a colour shift to gold highlighter.
Another Sephora tween. Or SpaceNK tween.
Totally fair. The only time my 11 year old has been allowed to leave the house wearing makeup was for the TAylor Swift concert – and that was almost like dress up makeup.
I think it’s a very sensible rule because an 11 year old doesn’t need make up.
I suppose the kids now are getting in everything too at a much younger age, but they definitely don’t need much, if any
A reasonable rule for an 11-year-old, I think.
Yes, I agree that her daughter is too young to be wearing make-up but when she is older she will be very experienced in the application of it.
That’s a fair enough call – 11 is too young.
When I saw the date (24th May) I thought I must comment on something here. Only later I noticed that it was 2023. the 24the May being my birthday.
Sounds sensible
Good rule as a parent.
