It wasn’t a huge surprise to hear recently that Bambi was voted the biggest weepie of all time, but what did come as a bolt from the blue was the amount of women out there that don’t wear waterproof mascara. EVER.
Okay, so I don’t have definitive numbers, but a quick poll of the office, friends and friends of friends (even, shock horror, myself up until a few weeks ago – I know, I know and I call myself a beauty editor) summed up that many of us have had a bad experience at some point or other (think three day old mascara that still won’t come off or mascara that runs faster than Usain Bolt – the super speedy Jamaican – when it merely whiffs a hint of moisture) that has put us off for life.
So with this fact in mind I’m dedicating this Ed’s update to sharing the finest (judged by you lot) waterproof mascaras out there. Of course, if you have one you’d like to add, we’d love to hear about it. But for now, here goes:
Covergirl VolumeExact Waterproof Mascara
Scoring 5/5 in all its reviews is no mean feat, so you can be safe in the knowledge that you’re getting an affordable and truly excellent waterproof mascara.
Max Factor Lash Lift Waterproof Mascara
Members say this is the perfect everyday mascara that stays on all day (even when you’ve been swimming). Oh and it’s easy-to-use and is great for getting that individual lash look. Well, I guess it sounds okay.
Bourjois Mascara Volumateur Waterproof (Pump Up The Volume Waterproof)
Because waterproof doesn’t have to mean black. Bourjois Mascara Volumateur Waterproof comes in gorgeously electric blue, lilac, brown and of course classic black so that you can mix it up a little depending on your mood.
So there you have it, three of the best to tickle your fancy. And if these can get past the hardened beauty addicts on the site, we’d bet our bottom dollar that they’re well worth an experiment. So what are you waiting for girls?
What’s your waterproof fail-safe?
p.s. It’s official, Thursday is the new Monday.
