One of the biggest beauty no-nos is to leave the house unprepared. Lips dry and cracked and you’ve left your balm at home? Been shopping for an hour and you’ve already got a blister? Do yourself a favour and read on to discover the must-haves you should stash in your handbag, ASAP! You can thank us later…
LIP BALM
If you’re out and about, you don’t want to be left high and dry with chapped lips. Instead, keep them soft, smooth and hydrated with a slathering of a nourishing lip balm. Up the fun–factor with super cute packaging like the round little balls that house the Revo lip balms (our fave is the coconut flavour), or keep it simple with the all-natural Bellamer Botanical Skin Care Nourishing Lip Balm.
SPARE HAIR TIE & BOBBY PINS
If I could have a dollar for every hair elastic and bobby pin that I’d ever lost, I’d be one cashed-up lady. While these hair essentials are absolutely vital to keep on hand for hair emergencies, make sure you always put them somewhere safe in your handbag. Try sliding your bobby pins onto your hair elastics to hold them all together then pop them into a little zippered purse or pocket in your bag. Easy!

PERFUME
If you’d like to keep your bag from weighing as much as a bowling ball, but still want to be prepared for anything, keep your pretty perfume bottles at home and get a perfume atomiser for your handbag. An atomiser is a small refillable perfume bottle, so you can take your fave scent wherever you go!

BLISTER PATCHES
If you’ve ever felt the sheer agony of getting a blister on your foot, you’ll understand that it’s oh-so-important to always leave the house prepared. Sometimes regular plasters just won’t cut it, so up the ante by picking up some blister patches and stashing them in your bag. Not only will they prevent blister pain and stop it from forming further, they’ll also help to keep water, dirt and germs at bay.

BLOTTING TISSUES
I cannot speak more highly of blotting tissues. Usually by the time 3pm strikes, I’m sporting a shiny oil slick right down the centre of my face. Instead of reaching for a tissue to dab away grease, I grab my trusty blotting tissues and gently press them against my skin. I love the Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup Blotting Papers as they’re made with flax seeds, which are super absorbent, but I’m a fan of the Swisspers Blot-Off Oil Tissues, too – they’re only $5.95.
What are the beauty essentials you must have on you at all times? Will you be snapping up any of these beauties?
I do keep some of the blister patches around here at all times.
