So the regular beauties around here will all be aware of my slight issue with my LML (Lack of Mobile Lid) – in that my eyes are just too shallow-set to be able to do too much with eye make-up. You have to understand that for me, this is almost the equivalent of a doctor with no ears for a stethoscope (okay, maybe I’m being a little dramatic there…)
I go to great lengths to be able to find new ways to doll up my eyes, and one thing that I’ve found works really well for me that doesn’t always go well for others is cream eyeshadow. Let me explain why.
As my lids are quite shallow, I don’t have many lines around the socket, and what is cream eyeshadow’s biggest downfall? That’s right, settling into lines and creases! Cue big Cheshire Cat-like grin.
But don’t fret; people with PML (Plenty of Mobile Lid) can also experience the joys of a silky, shimmery cream shadow too. Want to know how? Simply prep your eyelids with a great primer. I suggest Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Prime Time Eye Primer, which provides a smooth, crease-free canvas for your eye make-up.
Next, take to your lid with a creamy shadow, starting with a thin layer and building up intensity to your taste (we love Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow for it’s long-wear smear-free formula.) Just try not to blink for a few seconds after application! To finish your look, dab some finishing powder over your shadow. A translucent shade will ensure the colour isn’t muted. Napoleon Perdis Translucent Loose Powder is perfect for this (and lasts ages.)
What is your trick for dazzling eyes everytime?
