TikTok Has Brought Our Attention To This $10 Shape Tape Dupe

It’s one thing for a beauty product to gain viral status on TikTok. However, it’s another level of excitement entirely when that viral product is also a dupe for a more expensive fave.

Having recently discovered a Dior blush dupe for $4, we can now add another affordable alternative to our makeup kit:  e.l.f 16HR Camo Concealer.

TikTok brought our attention to this $10 concealer (stocked at Target) after creators labelled it as a dupe for everyone’s favourite full-coverage concealer, the Tarte Shape Tape. Which is not only good news for our dark circles but also for our wallets, as Tarte’s version retails at over four times the price, coming in at a cool $42 per tube.

Tarte’s formula has been a long-time favorite of users with dry skin looking for long-lasting, full coverage that won’t flake or crease, and much to our delight, e.l.f’s version appears to bring a similar list of benefits.

Having gained over 2.9 million views on the #elfcamoconcealer hashtag, this budget concealer offers an astonishing amount of pigment that isn’t typically found in budget beauty products.

Similar to the Tarte Shape Tape, the Camo Concealer lasts for up to 16 hours, and effectively conceals pigmentation, blemishes, scars and dark circles with a very minimal amount of product.

The satin finish concealer by e.l.f is specifically designed for normal, combination, and dry skin types, as it is a lightweight formula that won’t crease or flake. Additionally it’s been enriched with anti-inflammatory rose flower water and sodium hyaluronate to lock in moisture and soothe redness or irritation.

The similarities don’t stop at the formula either. e.l.f’s concealer is also equipped with a large doe-foot applicator, similar to the popular Shape Tape’s jumbo speed smoother™ .

However, if you’re a Shape Tape devotee, you might be let down by the shade variety (or lack thereof). As it currently stands, Target only has the e.l.f collection available in 10 shades of beige and tan. A disappointing contrast to Tarte, which has a more expansive range of 35 shades.

Have you tried this Tarte Shape Tape dupe? What did you think?
