Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs put to the test

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs put to the test

When you bruise your leg, have pimply arms or have been attacked from head-to-toe by mosquitos, it can make you a bit self-conscious about showing off those body parts (especially now that we’re coming into summer).Thankfully there’s a solution in Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Lotion, the leg and body make-up that helps hide imperfections on your body to leave your skin looking smooth, even and flawless. Kind of like a foundation for your body, the lotion helps cover and conceal imperfections like veins, freckles, bruises, red marks, and other imperfections to minimise their appearance and leave you feeling more confident overall. You simply apply the lotion (which is enriched with palmaria extract) to any part of your body much like you would a cream or moisturiser and, once blended, the pigmented formula leaves a streak-free finish that’s transfer-resistant when dry and won’t budge until washed off with soap and water. Available in four shades (Light, Medium, Tan, and Deep), we had three beautyheaven team members put the body make-up to the test on different imperfections. Here’s how they went:

“I have quite pale skin, so imperfections on my legs tend to stand out. I have lots of those annoying tiny red dots over my shins and calves, as well as a light birthmark below my left knee and a few shaving scars here and there. When I was given the chance to try the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Lotion in Light, I was super keen to see how it would help to hide these imperfections. It’s safe to say I was impressed with the results! To apply, I smoothed around a ten cent-sized amount of the lotion on each leg and let it dry for the better part of an hour. At first, I found that the colour of the lotion was quite dark and slightly orange-looking, but once it had completely dried, the colour had changed to give my legs even coverage with a natural hint of colour. The little red dots, bruise and scars were definitely not as obvious and my birthmark was much lighter-looking.By the end of the day, I had a close look at my legs and noticed that the product had hardly budged at all and my legs still had a nice glow and good coverage. The lotion was super easy to wash off – I just used my regular body wash in the shower to rinse it away. Overall, I’d recommend this lotion to anyone who’d like to minimise the appearance of imperfections on their body, while achieving a natural, even finish.”

“I must have incredibly sweet blood, because as soon as I show off the tiniest bit of skin in spring, my legs get eaten alive by mosquitos. At first my legs are covered in red bumps, but then the scratching gets the better of me and before I know it I’m left with a few red, angry scars. Seeing as it’s warming up and I’d like to wear a skirt without feeling self-conscious, I was more-than-keen to give Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs a go. And because my legs are a little on the pale side coming out of winter, I decided to try the Medium shade to give my skin a bit of a deeper colour. I applied one layer of the lotion and spread it on both of my legs (over my mosquito bites) and over my feet, and then left it a while to dry. I’ll admit that the colour was a little intense when I first applied it, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that as the lotion set, the colour toned down to look a lot more natural. My mosquito bites were still quite visible (I blame my incessant scratching for making the bumps so red and scarred-looking), so I applied another layer and left it to dry, and I was quite happy with how it looked – not completely hidden, but definitely a lot less obvious to the naked eye.I applied the lotion in the morning and, even by the time I got home at the end of the day, the colour had not moved an inch! And the finish was still as ‘airbrushed’ as when I first applied it. I was so impressed by how well it lasted during the day.”

“My major skin concern is that I have spider veins on my legs and I’ve noticed with time that they’re becoming more predominant, and more and more keep popping up! I used Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs predominantly on my thighs as a make-up to cover these spider veins, but I also applied the lotion all over my legs for even coverage. I applied the product in a similar fashion to how I would apply body moisturiser, and I’d even suggest applying it with a mitt if you wanted to keep your hands clean. I applied one coat overall and left it to dry for quite a while before getting dressed. When I first put the lotion on the colour was intense and dark, but as soon as it absorbed into my skin it left an even, streak-free colour that didn’t look heavy or too dark. My spider veins were a bit hidden, and even though the product didn’t completely hide my imperfections, the coverage was enough to make them less noticeable and provided a nice bronzed effect.I applied the product on a night out and found that it stayed put for the night and was so easy to wash off when I got in the shower when I got home.”Note: Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs may help to minimise the physical appearance of  minior skin imperfections or irritations.
