If, like us, you sat on the edge of your seat through Golden Globes red carpet glam, then we’re guessing you were equally captivated by Rosamund Pike’s black birdcage headpiece. And while the funeral-chic-meets-avant-garde veil wasn’t what we were expecting, it just worked. But we tell you what, thank goodness for social media giving us a closer glimpse into the stunning rosy glow that lay beneath.
Golden Globes Glam
Makeup artist to the stars Mélanie Inglessis (well-known for her ability to create radiant skin), was trusted by Rosamund to create the flawless look (that we just wish we got to see more of) that accompanied that headpiece. Sharing on her social media the steps (and lucky for us, exact products), she detailed everything that went into giving Rosamund an enviable rosy glow.
The Skincare Secrets
Mélanie started by prepping her skin with Image Skincare face and eye masks (because we’re sure the Golden Globes pre-party still has some lingering effects the next morning). and then went in with the Image Skincare Vital C range (as we all know vitamin C is a trusty glow-getter).
The Makeup Rundown
So here’s where we get very excited. Not only was the entire makeup look created using Dior (a luxe experience indeed) but our new fave makeup artist Mélanie showed us all the need-to-know deets, palettes and colours of what she chose to create the unimaginable rosy glow.
Starting with the “soft but luminous” glow across her lids, Mélanie chose to go with a peachy wash of colour, utilising the Diorshow 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Amber Pearl’ ($120 at Sephora). Next up, her perfected pout, because we know no celeb is hitting the red carpet without a lick of lippy. Her pout was lined for long-lasting colour with the Dior Contour Lip Liner in ‘593 Brown Fig’ ($51 at Sephora) and topped off with a hydrating swatch of unmissable neutral perfection i.e. Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in ‘100 Nude Look’ ($66 at Sephora).
And while we don’t know for certain how she created those rosy glowing cheeks, our best bet is the iconic Dior Backstage Rose Glow Blush (we may have spied the trio on the makeup table).
So there we have it: a closer look behind the veil. While we still love our out there makeup looks (don’t get us wrong), we’re also very here for the more neutral approach to glam that we saw walking the Golden Globes red carpet this year.

Did you like her more ‘neutral’ glam look? What did you think of the birdcage-esque headpiece?
Rosamund looks gorgeous, her skin is like porcelain . The headpiece is definitely something different but it quite suits her.
I also think she looks lovely
Fantastic look – almost like a mannequin.
Not too keen, funeral like
She looks like she is going to a funeral.
Yes not a look that appeals to me.
yes its very dark and depressing
It was certainly a memorable outfit.
Her skin and makeup look great
I was not keen on the birdcage veil
reminds me of the borg lady from startrek
The Borg Queen? Or Voyager’s Seven of Nine? – I can’t see either.
I personally dislike the headpiece.
My favourite look of the night!
Still reminds me of the Borg lady from Star Trek
I love the dress & veil – they paired well, but I know if I wore that veil, I’d get a migraine looking through that mesh.
