Have you ever seen Rihanna wearing winged eyeliner? Neither. We’re sure she has but it must be a rare occurrence. And considering she owns her own makeup company, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, it seems a bit strange, right?
Well, Fenty Beauty’s Global Makeup Artist, Priscilla Ono, recently sat down with Glamour UK and revealed why we don’t see RiRi rocking any winged eyeliner on the red carpet.

Basically, it’s just not for her! Rihanna prefers a thin, subtle line right on the lashes.
“I remember when I first starting working with her, it was really nerve-wracking for me to get it SO THIN and right on the lash line”, Priscilla told Glamour UK. “I think she created the perfect eyeliner for her, because the tip of Flyliner is so thin and allows you to do a really thin lash line.”
This kind of subtle eyeliner application is known as ‘tightlining’ and is especially good for people with hooded eyes. The technique makes your eyes look bigger and brighter but still natural – like you’re not wearing any eyeliner at all. To tightline, lift your eyelid area up and apply small strokes of liner directly to the inside of your upper lash line.
