The Revlon ColorStay 24 Hour Longwear Makeup Normal/Dry offers a medium-to-full coverage foundation, with this particular variant formulated for normal to dry skin types. Featuring popular skin care ingredients like hyaluronic acid, as well as SPF 20, this longwear formula seeks to keep skin looking flawless, hydrated and dewy for up to 24 hours after application.

Following a few weeks of daily wear, Trial Team members quickly realised this was a foundation worth keeping around. Described as being both “reliable” and a “great all-rounder”, its liquid consistency allows for an easy and buildable application by hand, sponge or brush. As for its 24-hour claim? This was backed up by participants of the Trial Team who revealed their foundation didn’t crease, fade, or call for reapplication at any stage throughout the day. Hyaluronic acid, the formula’s standout ingredient, was praised for keeping their skin looking fresh and dewy right up until they got home.

Among the group were several members who hadn’t used a foundation in quite some time, citing COVID lockdowns or easily irritated skin as reasons for taking a break. For this reason, participants were relieved to discover that Revlon’s formula made for a no-fuss re-entry into wearing makeup and one that didn’t trigger sensitivities, dryness, or irritation.

Though this particular variation of the formula is tailored specifically to dry and normal skin types, coverage preference remains flexible. ColorStay offers a sheer yet buildable finish that can be customised to suit your skin’s needs.

To the relief of users, purchasing this foundation for the first time won’t require you to swatch shades in the middle of a busy pharmacy aisle. With the use of Revlon’s online colour match tool, Trial Team participants found the process of selecting their shade both “seamless and accurate”.

So, what’s the verdict? Is the Colorstay Foundation a permanent fixture in the beauty routine of dry and normal skin types? Put simply, a resounding yes. The price point, ease of application, dewy finish, and overall longevity of the formula made this one a no-brainer.

“This is now my every day go to! I have always preferred wearing long wear foundations so this one has been a winner for me as it works, the colour is lovely, and the price point is great! I work in a office all day so love that I’m able to apply it in the morning and it lasts me all day without budging and rubbing off.” – Nicolaelizabeth

“I enjoyed using this foundation because I am not one for full coverage. I like my foundation light and airy, with medium coverage and this foundation was nice and light on my skin.” – StarShine89

“I normally steer clear of foundations as they always make my skin (dry skin) look extra textured and rough. I reluctantly tried this Revlon foundation.. and I surprisingly loved it! The colour I chose online matched my skin perfectly and it was easier than normal foundations to blend into my skin. It didn’t feel oily or thick like a bit of SPF moisturising foundations often do. All in all, I’m a fan!” – Sidney-Mikaela

“I really love this foundation I have very dry skin and this didn’t make my skin look dry and cakey at all. It blended in really well was real easy to work with I used a brush then just smoothed the rest with my fingers and I was ready. Light coverage which I like but could build it up more if needed.” – Eyeream

  1. It annoys me when products have a low SPF rating in Australia. We get told to wear a high SPF and then you see 20+ or 25+. I just don’t think that is high enough for the intensity of our sun.
