In our heads we’re still living in a very pink world where Reese Witherspoon’s Elle Woods is taking over courtrooms and showing girls everywhere beauty and brains aren’t mutually exclusive. Thankfully, we’ve taken this message and rolled with it.
Reese is just as talented behind the scenes as she is on screen. Her latest accolade? A Critics Choice nomination for ‘Best Actress In A Drama Series’. With awards season well and truly underway we’re beyond excited to see Reese elegantly swan down the red carpet.
If, like us, you tuned in to watch the Critics Choice red carpet, you’ll be forgiven if you thought you were seeing double. At the recent Golden Globes Reese brought her son Deacon as her guest, and her daughter (and literal clone) Ava had the opportunity to attend the Critics Choice Awards this week too.
The pair wore twinning black gowns and simple makeup. Reese literally only had ten makeup products on her face.
The 10 products in question are all by clean makeup brand Ilia and they were applied by celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan Fisher.
Reese Witherspoon’s Critics Choice Awards Makeup
Instead of opting for a full coverage foundation Kelsey used a mix of Ilias Super Serum Skin Tint ($79.30 at Fresh Beauty Co) and their True Skin Serum Concealer ($54.90 at Fresh Beauty Co) for Reese’s flawless ‘clean girl makeup’ base. Giving her a touch of pantone peachy colour was Ilia’s Multi Stick in ‘Whisper’ ($60 at MECCA).
For Reese’s brows Kelsey lightly filled them in using the Ilia In Full Micro-tip Brow Pencil in ‘Soft Brown’ ($38 at MECCA) and set them in place with Ilia’s In Frame Brow Gel in ‘Clear’ ($38 at MECCA).
Kelsey kept Reese’s eyes enchanting, using soft warm neutral shades to make her blue eyes pop. The palette in question? The oh-so-silky, talc-free Ilia The Necessary Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Warm Nude’ ($81.35 at Fresh Beauty Co). A defining eye look wouldn’t quite be complete without a lick of lengthening mascara (Ilia Fullest Volumising Mascara $45 at MECCA) and a smidge of sultry smudged out eyeliner (Ilia Clean Line Gel Liner in ‘Dusk’ $52 at Fresh Beauty Co), right?
Kelsey finished the look off with a light dusting of Ilia’s Soft Focus Finishing Powder ($69.40 at Fresh Beauty Co) and a touch of lippie; Ilia’s Colour Block Lipstick in ‘Cinnabar’ ($51 at Fresh Beauty Co).
