Straight off the bat, we need to make it clear that in a country like Australia where UV rays are so powerful, a powder with SPF alone is not going to provide you with an adequate amount of sun protection.
Although they may say SPF20 or 30, the amount of powder you would need to put on (7 x the amount you usually would) for that level of coverage means you are most likely not getting anywhere near the amount of protection advertised.
However, if you want something to add an extra layer of defence, or a little something to help you with SPF touch-ups throughout the day, a powder can help (a little bit) with avoiding sun damage.
So as long as you pinkie-promise not to let your regular application of broad-spectrum SPF slip, here are seven powders with SPF for a little bit of added protection.
CLINIQUE SPF 30 Mineral Powder Makeup for Face
The Body Shop’s Extra Virgin Minerals™ Loose Powder Foundation SPF 25
Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 20
Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Brush SPF30
Koh Gen Do UV Face Powder SPF50
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Compact Mineral Foundation
Paula’s Choice On-The-Go Shielding Powder SPF 30
How do you make sure you’re protected from the sun throughout the day?

Most mineral powder foundations have a degree of SPF. I wear NbN on top of regular sunscreen. I hate the sun, so I stick indoors or in the shade throughout summer.
The more SPF products for layering available the better.

I need a powder or compact with sunscreen for on the go touch ups.
I like mineral foundation but not tried any with SPF before. My dermie said that sep S/S is more effective than when added to another product.
