If every woman had her way, her skin would not only be as smooth as a baby’s bottom and as radiant as the soft glow of a lamp, but it would be even and line-free without a pore in sight. Sadly, reality means that women are constantly working to tackle skin imperfections like pores, pigmentation, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and dullness. Often, it’s skin care products that are the heroes in the daily struggle for a perfect complexion. And while there’s no denying that a regular skin care routine containing the right ingredients for the specific problem can go a long way in dealing with imperfections, there’s another trick women can have up their sleeves.Mineral make-up, especially one with the right combination of skin-loving ingredients, can work wonders to help minimise those skin imperfections. How could this simple, non-skin care product be the solution for your skin woes, you ask?Well, it’s all in the formula. Nude by Nature Pressed Mineral Cover is a foundation, which means that it’s got the pigments you need to help even out your skin tone and cover up any pigmentation, redness, and marks (like annoying acne scars).Beyond that, the powder itself (which is buildable, so you can layer it until you have the coverage you’re after), works to actually help almost ‘fill in’ and minimise the appearance of enlarged pores and wrinkles. It does this without settling into or enhancing them, meaning skin is left looking a lot smoother and almost air-brushed.And then there are the ingredients that look after skin and help enhance your complexion. Kakadu plum, which has the world’s highest concentration of natural vitamin C, along with nourishing cehami extract, vitamin E, avocado oil, jojoba oil, and shea butter work together to help illuminate your skin and keep your complexion hydrated and protected. The pressed powder also features titanium dioxide and iron oxide, which are anti-inflammatories to help reduce redness and even out your skin tone. It is also free from irritants like talc and bismuth, meaning your skin will be free from any flare-ups.It’s important to remember, however, that the application of a mineral powder – whether it’s loose like Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Cover or pressed like the Pressed Mineral Cover – is just as important a step in minimising imperfections as the formula of the product. To get the most out of your mineral make-up, it’s important to start slowly and build up as you need. Take your brush, load the top of the bristles, turn your brush upright and gently tap it so the powder can fall down towards the bristles. This will ensure you don’t apply too much in one spot, and the powder can slowly be released as you apply. Then, use circular motions to buff the foundation into your skin, making sure to sweep up and around. This technique will help create a smooth, even and flawless finish. I love the NBN mineral finishing veil, but the pressed powder is just awful – not sure what they use to compact it, but it does nothing for my skin and oxidises badly 🙁
I have the NbN loose & pressed powders, but I reach for the loose powder most often.
