Well, isn’t this just wonderfully refreshing? Kristen Bell – being the utter legend that she is – has taken to the cover of US magazine Redbook a mere 11 weeks after giving birth, still sporting her baby weight.
Doesn’t she look outstanding? And healthy? And radiant?
The stunning actress put on a little under 20kg during her pregnancy, and while posing for this very photo, she was still carrying seven of those baby weight kilos. In the world of toned, taut and terrific post-baby bodies, this is almost unheard of in Hollywood.
So, why buck celebrity tradition and embrace her post-baby body and the extra kilos that come with it?
“Look, I’m like any other woman,” Kristen told the magazine. “I had to surrender to not worrying about the way I looked, how much I weighed, because that’s just part of the journey of having a baby. I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size.”
Well said, Kristen. But don’t stop there. Please keep your grounded, candid words coming. We non-Hollywood types beg of you.
“I’d like to get back down to where I was before the baby … But if this is where my body wants to be, so be it. I’m not going to make myself miserable for the rest of my life trying to get back to where I was before.”
Amazing. Simply amazing. Looks like the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t the only one trying to alter the Hollywood stereotype of instantly trim, taunt and terrific post-baby bodies…
