Martha Stewart made history this week. In case you missed it, the author and celebrity chef appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, making her the brand’s oldest cover model to date. And sure, it’s mightn’t be everyone’s dream to shoot a swimsuit cover at 81 years of age, but that doesn’t mean we’re not curious as to how Martha looks and feels as good as she does. In particular, how her skin glows the way it does.
Though we know a little bit about what she’s not doing (which is retouching her own Instagram photos), there’s been little chatter around Martha’s beauty routine in general.
At least until now. Martha’s go-to makeup artist Daisy Troye, who was also the glam pro behind her latest cover shoot has just spilled the beans on the drugstore product responsible for her bronzed glow.
What is the drugstore product behind Martha Stewart’s glowing skin?
“I use it every day on her,” Daisy told People, speaking of the L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer Lotion. This shea butter-enriched primer and highlighter works to illuminate and hydrate the skin all in one hit. A dream.
“I go through a tube every week. It’s how she gets that dewy look, like she just got a facial. I’m obsessed with it,” Daisy gushed.
If you’re not familiar with this L’Oreal illuminator, there’s an unfortunate explanation. For whatever (devastating) reason, this product isn’t readily available in Australia. Unless of course you want to pay extortionate Amazon prices or $49.95 at Dick Smith, for an otherwise $13 product.
However, for what it’s worth, we can recommend a few equally as hydrating and glow-enhancing products.
Similar liquid highlighters we recommend…
Revlon SkinLights™ Face Glow Illuminator
“I’m using Sunrise Luster and it is light bronze colour, with a bit of pinky tone. On the skin it is pearly and adds a subtle highlight. It blends with my foundation of even over BB cream.” – dmgale
$13.97 at Chemist Warehouse
The Nude by Nature Soft Focus Illuminator
“So gorgeous and versatile. I use this in so many different ways. When i’m feeling lazy I just pop this on without foundation or anything and it gives my skin such a fresh a lovely glow. When i’m putting more effort in I put it on before my foundation. and when my skin is looking especially lacklustre i mix it in with my foundation so I can give my skin some life.” – Kakid66

Do you use a liquid illuminator? If so, which one?

It would be great to try and love the others here too.
I have never used this one before.
Is it just me ir does that photo of her in a swimsuit look odd? It’s like they’ve photoshopped her lower torso out of the picture.
I sometimes forget she went to jail.
I’m using the Revlon SkinLights and really like it.
So many different illuminators to to try, and we all have different skin, so i keep trying many
I recently used one for the first time and loved it
