I like to think of myself as a minimal fuss kind of girl. I do the basics, but don’t spend hours in front of the mirror perfecting winged liner or applying individual falsies (except for on very special occasions). So when it came to writing a blog about how I apply my make-up each morning, I actually surprised myself with the amount of products I use on a daily basis!
The base
I always start with moisturiser. I’ve been using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser for well over 10 years and I honestly cannot imagine a day without it. After moisturising I apply eye cream (Clinique All About Eyes). This is a new thing for me, as I have just discovered that if I apply eye cream first, then concealer application is far easier.
With concealer, I usually apply just a dab or two of Becca Compact Concealer under my eyes, or to cover a spot. Then it’s an all over slather of Becca Luminous Skin Colour, a terrific SPF tinted moisturiser. And finally, I finish it off with a quick dust of COVERGIRL TRUBlend Luminous Powder in Translucent Light (405).
Added extras
Once the base is done, I then move on to anything extra I decide to do on the day. I am currently experimenting with the Shiseido Automatic Fine Eyeliner in brown. It’s a liquid liner, which you pump and apply. Sometimes I get a great thin line, and other times, not so thin. I think eyeliner is an art that you can only master over time. Seeing as I’ve only just started wearing it regularly, I figure there is still a bit of learning for me to do!
After liner, I apply my eyeshadow. Currently, I’m totally in love the Clinique Colour Surge Eyeshadow Duo in Like Mink – it’s a really versatile nude shade duo and it goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe.
Finally, mascara is always a must and I believe I have found the holy grail of mascara that works for me, which is MaxFactor Masterpiece MAX.
The final touch
The last thing I apply is lipgloss, and the gloss of choice depends on where I apply it, for example:
– If I apply while walking out the door, I use the gloss in the front pocket of my handbag: Chanel Levres Scintillantes in No. 96.
– If I apply while in the car, I use the gloss in the centre consol: Blistex Silk & Shine.
– If I apply it at work, I use the gloss in my top drawer: Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Grapefruit.
And if all else fails, I have 4 other lipglosses floating around in my bag to pick from…

Are you a no-fuss make-up girl, or do you like to go all out?
