Q) “My foundation always turns orange after about an hour of wear. I’ve tried a few different foundations and they all do this. Why?” – Pagan, WA
A) “Very, very good question! I can absolutely answer this one! Your make-up may be turning orange because you have a high level of acidity in your skin. I bet your lip colours change after you apply them, too.
“I have found the best way to combat this is by using a light or tinted moisturiser type of foundation. MAC Face and Body [Stockists: 03 9825 0101] is fantastic. Just remember: the more foundation you put on, the more noticeable the colour change will be, so don’t be heavy-handed. Also try applying a little bit of translucent powder over the top – this might help minimise the colour change as well.” – Yolanda Lukowsi, make-up artist
Bh skincare tip:
It might be worth visiting a beauty therapist to assess the state of your skin’s pH. If your acid mantle is out of whack, they will be able to point you toward products that can help restore a healthy balance (a slightly acidic pH 5.5).
