It’s Liptember, which means it’s time to let loose with lipstick (as if we needed an excuse)!
Helping to spread awareness of women’s mental health issues, all funds raised from the campaign will be donated to the Centre for Women’s Mental Health and Lifeline.
And what a worthy cause it is. The facts are alarming; depression, anxiety, negative self-image, post-natal depression and menopause literally affect hundreds of thousands of women each year. On average one in four people suffer from depression and anxiety, making it the most common mental illness in the country, yet it is often an illness that isn’t spoken about openly.
To register and seek sponsorship from family, friends and co-workers for committing to wear lipstick through the month of September, check out the website. You can also buy an official Liptember lipstick from participating retailers, with all the proceeds donated to the campaign. Alternatively, you could let loose with one of these gorgeous lippies:

Inika Lipsticks
MeMeMe Satin Lip Cream
Designer Brands Moisturising Lipstick
For super soft, plump lips (and to prevent the drying effect of some lipsticks), be sure to prep your pout pre-lippie with a moisturising base. We love Natralus Natural Paw Paw Lip Balm, which contains nourishing Carica papaya to sooth and protect. You could also try official Liptember partner Carmex®’s Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm, which hydrate your lips while also providing a sheer hint of pretty colour. Plus, 100 per cent of the proceeds from Carmex lip products will go directly to the Liptember charity.
Oh, and don’t forget to show your support by following Liptember on Facebook and Instagram at @liptember.
What crazy lip colours will you be donning this Liptember?
