Lily Collins And Amanda Seyfried Both Wore This Mascara To The Golden Globes

The Golden Globes kicked off the 2021 award season last night — and considering it’s usually held in January, Hollywood’s finest were more than ready to put on one hell of a fashion and beauty show.

There were many stand-outs, including Margot Robbie head-to-toe in Chanel (with a custom lip colour mixed by makeup artist Pati Dubroff) and we loved seeing Bridgerton‘s Nicola Coughlan rock a neon eye, too.

But one of our favourite parts of any award show is the backstage ‘getting ready’ intel shared by the glam squads behind each look. And there was one product in particular that piqued our interest, as it was used by not just one but two actresses.

Both Lily Collins and Amanda Seyfried are amabassadors for Lancôme, so it was no surprise that each was repping the brand. However, when it came to mascara we didn’t see the usual cult suspect, Lancôme® Hypnôse Mascara, on the list (surprising, considering it has a 4.5 star rating on bh).

Instead, the best-seller was replace by a newcomer: Lancôme Lash Idôle Volumising Mascara.  It’s said to be all about the ‘fanned-out’ lash look, with a unique brush featuring 125 different bristle sizes to really provide that lifted eye-opening effect.

One thing is for sure, both women looked absolutely stunning. And they wouldn’t have been suffering panda-eye come midnight either; the formula has 24-hour wear.

If you’re already a huge fan of Hypnôse, you’ll be pleased to note this one comes in at $5 cheaper ($50 flat), so it might be worth a try next time.

Keen to know what other mascaras celebs were wearing on the red carpet? Kaley Cuoco went for Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Push Up Mascara ($48, charlottetilbury.com/au), while Sarah Hyland used e.l.f cosmetics Lash It Loud Mascara (which retails for only $6 in the U.S. but is yet to be available in Aus).

Are you a fan of Lancôme’s mascaras? What’s your go to lash-lifter for special occassions?

  1. I have used Hypnose mascara and I really loved it, but it’s too expensive and I wouldn’t buy it again. I really like the MAC tubing mascara in the blue tube. I can’t remember what it’s called. I just purchased one last weekend. I’ve repurchased it several times, and intend to continue to do so.

  2. They both look lovely, were they at home doing their own makeup? Probably not. They may have been ‘forced’ to use the new Lancome mascara as part of their contract (the sort of ‘force’ I’d have no problem obeying!).

  3. From my experience one brand of mascara is just about the same as another.
I’ve tried mascara that was supposed to curl my lashes. It didn’t. I stick to Maybelline Big Lash. It has worked for me for years.

  4. I have been using Lancôme Hypnose for more than 15 years now and it’s tried and true the best for volume and length, Asian lashes or not.

I too got excited with new mascaras on the market, but even when I had tried 10 drugstore ones and 2 high end ones recommended as HG by influencers and such (who were prolly sponsored by the brand), it was all a waste of time and money that I could’ve used to buy 2 Lancôme mascaras and spared myself of pain. Also the applicator never poked my eyes and made me cry, which is an issue when mascara is still wet.

Nothing else fans my lashes out, lengthens and volumises my lashes to look like falsies without clumping like the Lancôme mascaras. I don’t know why. It’s pricey but works everytime.
