I have a bit of a thing for eyes. Specifically, I have a bit of a thing for eyelashes.
I just love the way that they can swoop and curve in just the right way to make your eyes pop. And the way that long, luscious lashes make batting your eyes so adorable and sexy at the same time.
But alas, I was not genetically blessed with full lashes that curl in just the right way. My sister, on the other hand, has phenomenal eyelashes. Her eyes always look amazing – sans mascara, without the help of an eyelash curler. Annoying, right?
And I know I’m not alone in my state of lash envy. We all know of someone who has the most beautiful, product-free lashes – the kind of lashes that we’d kill for (not literally, of course!).
Luckily, there is hope for those of us that need a bit of lash assistance…
A recent discovery of mine has been Revlon Beauty Tools Extra Curl Eyelash Curler (the thought of putting something that looked so similar to scissors so close to my eyes used to freak me out). Before applying your mascara, position the contour pad near the base of your upper lashes and firmly squeeze the handle together. And viola, perfectly curled lashes! Just be careful not to catch your lids…it hurts.
It’s also a good idea to invest in a mascara that lengthens and volumises. An oldie but a goodie, Maybelline XXL Volume+Length Microfiber Mascara first primes and lifts your lashes, giving them extra length, and then coats them with volumising and ultra-holding waxes.
Another way to go for added volume is to put on some falsies. Check out our Beauty School how-to to see just how easy it is.
Yes, some of us have to try a bit harder to get our lashes to look va-va-voom, but then again, we also get to have more fun with it, don’t we?
What’s your biggest beauty envy?
and a lash primer too is great
