The most stressful part of leaving the house for an event is trying to cram everything you might need into one credit card-sized clutch. Once you’ve accounted for your phone, keys and rollerball fragrance, there’s limited space left for complexion-saving touchups (oily-skin friends, we’re looking at you).
While setting sprays are great for holding makeup in place generally, once the sun comes out, us sweaters can say sayonara to our glam. However, as we’ve seen with her skin care routine (which she admittedly shares with her husband), Kerry Washington is quite the savvy shopper when it comes to her beauty collection. Now she’s back with a space-saving, affordable, multi-use product that lets you touch up your cheeks, eyes, and lips on the go.
Heading to this year’s SAG Awards, Kerry gave her Instagram followers an inside look at her purse, and in addition to the (very necessary) chocolate bar and energy drink combo stored inside, one drugstore product caught our attention. Speaking of the recently released Neutrogena Hydro-Boost Multi-Purpose Balm (which as of this moment isn’t available in Australia), Kerry gushed, “this is incredible because it does so many things. It’s a touch-up colour pigment for my lips, my eyes and my cheeks.”
What makes it most attractive, however, may be the fact that it is so compact. “It saves so much space in my purse and I love it,” the Little Fires Everywhere actress noted.
So while we patiently wait for Neutrogena’s universally flattering creamy stick to hit our shores, in the meantime if you like the sound of a 3-in-1 purse-friendly makeup product, bh recommends:

What makeup products do you carry in your purse?
For me it really depends where I’m going and because we are still wearing face masks I’m not wearing as much makeup as before so at the moment I’m only carrying a lip balm in my bag.
I always carry a nude shade of Burt’s Bee Tinted Lip Balm.
Now only a lip balm, no point to wear lipstick when the masks are still mandatory.
I haven’t tried a setting spray. Given my oily skin, I probably should.
I only use lip balm in winter really, my lips seem to stay moisturised enough in the other seasons.
I find that too. Even in winter I hardly need to use lip balm.
What a beauty!
Will have to engine search “sag” thingy. Do not know what it is, seeing articles mentioning it.
I love rich tinted balms or stains.
Lipstick and lip balm.
I usually just carry a lipstick but with masks being worn everywhere I don’t bother with that either
I love tinted lip balm! Didn’t think about using it as blush but I’ll have to try that out!
Always carry lip balm in my handbag
Her skin looks amazing. She looks amazing.
she looks gorgeous!
Tints work better under masks/
ooh that nudestix nudies matte looks like something amazing!
I’m a bit confused: she’s wearing dark purple/navy eyeshadow & deep fuchsia lippy, so how could she touch up with a neutral?
I usually carry whatever lippy I’m wearing that day in my purse because I drink a lot of liquids. I haven’t worn lippy in ages as I’m still wearing my mask out.
My gosh she has amazing shaped lips! I have lipstick and a cushion compact in my makeup purse atm so that when I take my mask off I can touch up anything that’s been rubbed off.
Great read
ive heard so many good things about this
I’ve never used lip balm for anything but lips and I’m not likely to start applying it to my eyes.
I always carry lip balm and now lipstick again – yay!
I like the idea of a multistick but I’ve yet to find one that works for me – I usually put a touch of lipstick on my cheeks anyway.
The only thing I carry is a lip balm (tinted or clear) but it’s hardly ever used.
SAG Awards = Screen Actors Guild Awards
there are far too many acronyms nowadays
I only carry lip balms in my MU bag.
n my opinion iIt looks good on the lips, but not the eyes
I’m always using lip balm and if it’s tinted even better.
That is very nice and good value too
I always carry tinted lip balm! And on weekends i have lipstick
A lip balm, have to start wearing make up again now mask restrictions have lifted. Have been lazy and not wearing any make up when I was wearing a mask most of the time. I didn’t see the point in wearing it.
I rarely carry more than a lipstick in my purse anyway.
I use Burt’s Bees on both lips and cheeks
I always carry a lip balm with me.
I love multi purpose products. I need more of them in my life.
I’ve wanted a multi-purpose blush for ages – maybe this is the product for me
My absolute minimum is brow gel and lip balm.
I’ve used lipstick in place of a blush before.
Naked Sundays make these in SPF 50!!
Sounds interesting.
I particularly like multi use products for when I’m travelling.
