Finishing up as a decade-long ambassador for Lancome and a campaign famously known for its ban on retouching, Kate Winslet is back on the beauty scene after being announced as the newest ambassador for L’Oréal Paris.

Renowned for calling out digitally manipulated images of her body – Kate recently sent back a poster for her drama series Mare Of Eastown for being “too retouched” (twice) and begged the director to keep her “bulgy bit of belly” in an on-screen sex scene – she’s pretty unapologetic when it comes to rejecting unrealistic beauty standards.
In a press release announcing her latest partnership, Kate reflected on the iconic L’Oréal Paris tagline: “Because you’re worth it”. She noted, “sometimes you might not feel worth it at all. But, the more you say these words and believe in everything that you truly are, and however you identify, then with time and belief in yourself, you will too feel worth it.”

At age 45, Kate’s alignment with the famous cosmetics brand goes beyond just makeup and skin care, as she shared with allure, “They celebrate women at every age, and yes, it’s a beauty brand, but at the same time, they talk about cost-efficient ways of taking care of your skin and feeling good about yourself.”
But if her relaxed attitude had you fooled that she was anything but a beauty guru, think again. Kate’s so glam-savvy that she’s made the revolutionary discovery of how our skin (and in turn, our foundation shade) is impacted by our menstrual cycle – um, what?
When asked which of the L’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation shades she uses, Kate revealed, “At the beginning of my cycle, my skin is a lot more even [but] in the middle of my cycle, everything fires up a little bit, so I mix a couple of tones.”

Who knew!? Well, we suppose that as a woman who’s been sitting in a beauty chair since she was age 15, you’re bound to pick up some pretty incredible tips and tricks along the way.
