Kate Hudson Has Made A Compelling Case For Blueberry Milk Nails

Have you seen Kate Hudson’s latest Instagram post? You know, the one where she’s trying to show off her Giorgio Armani purse but all you can actually focus on is her stunning blueberry milk manicure? Yeah, yeah, that one. So, let’s talk about it because this might just be one of Kate’s best beauty looks to date…

Unlike the Glass Onion actress, who is currently lapping up a golden summer in Paris, we’re currently shivering our way into the second half of winter in Australia. Of course, each season comes with its own individual set of benefits. For example, a colder season lends itself to cosy candles, nourishing body oils, hot chocolates and an updated winter skin care routine, full of rich night creams and hydrating cleansers.

However, it’s the bright colours and fun pastels that are often shelved until September rolls back around, particularly when it comes to our nails.

And don’t get us wrong, we love some of this year’s winter nail trends. The glossy, pinky-nudes, the frosted glitter and of course, a classic red – it doesn’t get much better. But since getting a glimpse of Kate’s blue, short nails, we feel inspired to break out the spring-summer palette a little earlier this year.

How to recreate Kate Hudson’s blue manicure

essie Nail Polish in ‘Bikini So Teeny’

We say: It’s borderline impossible to tell through a screen, but this baby blue polish has been mixed with a delicate, subtle shimmer. Remember what we said about baby blue nail polish typically being a summer thing? Well, allow the shade name to prove our point…

You say: “I love the brand essie and their nail polishes. all of these blues are absolutely amazing. all look so beautiful on the nail. they make my nails look super good, sturdy and high quality done. it dries super quickly which is amazing and has little to no bubbles when applied! the brush is so big that it covers all nails in one swip which is so good.” – Zahliamulder

OPI Infinite Shine in ‘To Be Continued’

We say: Oh yes, if it isn’t the nail polish that cleans up every year at the Best in Beauty Awards. You’d be forgiven for not realising that this unassuming bottle is actually the home to a rich, smooth colour with the staying power of a gel manicure and the shine of a built-in top coat.

You say: “I love nail polish and I have worn many brands over my 30 years of wearing nail polish. Then I discovered OPI and I was in heaven. Long wearing and OPI does not chip like other brands. The Infinite Shine line gives my nails a great shine and dries quickly. Perfect for a night out.” – Duaa2202

PAX Polish Nail Colour + Treatment in ‘Edith’

We say: If we’re getting our microscope out, we’d say this one is a little less lilac and more of a subtle, bluey-grey than the others. Because of its subtle shade and sheer finish, we’ve declared this polish the ultimate between-seasons blue.

  1. My go to is a Sally Hansen 2 step gel in a pinky neutral.
Going by the website I think its Miracle Gel Rose and Shine. I am currently wearing a pale blue pastel though.
