If anyone has dabbled in the early seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, they will know that the Kardashian ladies didn’t always look as put together as they do today.

While some celebs would credit their own makeup skills, the Kardashian-Jenner’s have made no secret of the work their trusty glam squad do (#dreamjob).

Etienne Ortega has been a part of this squad ever since Kim found his Instagram and gave him a try. He is a celebrity hair and makeup artist who has also worked with Christina Aguilera, Kate Beckinsale and Eva Longoria.
Now, Etienne has spilled some tips on how to make your eye makeup last. Maybe if we follow his guidance, we too could contour like the Kardashians…
1. Primer
Napoleon Perdis has taught us all that ‘it’s a crime not to prime’ but Etienne has stressed the importance of primer for our eyes. It will make eyes pop AND the shadow will last. He recommends Laura Mercier primer.
Our members love: Revlon PhotoReady™ Eye Primer + Brightener, e.l.f. cosmetics Essentials Eyelid Primer and Elizabeth Arden Eye-Fix Primer.
2. Cream eyeshadows
Excess eyeshadow landing on your perfected foundation and concealer can be a nightmare. It’s messy and time-consuming to fix. That’s why Etienne recommends a cream-based eye shadow.
Our members love: Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow and Lush Cream Eye Shadow.
3. Powder
When dusting your face with setting powder, it can be easy to forget the eyes. But you shouldn’t. Etienne suggests adding little powder to make sure you’re eyeshadow lasts.
Our members love: Australis Ready Set Go Finishing Powder, Natio Loose Powder and essence all about matt! fixing compact powder.
4. Bronze
Believe it or not, Etienne says that bronzer is a safe bet. It’s also an easy way to build upon your daytime makeup for an evening look and can add dimension if dusted under the eye.
Our members love: The Body Shop’s Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder, Maybelline New York Bricks Bronzer and MAC Bronzing Powder.
5. Lashes
If all has gone wrong, Etienne relies on some heavy false lashes. It’s a quick way to transition into a night look. You can add extra drama with liner and darker shadow.
Our members love: MAC 1 Lash false lashes, Designer Brands Lashes and Glam by Manicare Gisele Lashes.
We love getting tips from makeup artists! Are you going to try any of these ones out?
