Julia Roberts is without question one of the most beautiful women in the world. With a smile that’s insured for over $43 million dollars and George Clooney as a best friend, there’s truly no one we’d rather swap places with for a day than the Notting Hill actress herself. Though the odds of that ever happening are slim, we’ve got something to tide us over in the meantime.
And what exactly is that? Specifics on her beauty routine, of course. More specifically, the exact product Julia’s makeup artist claims has totally abolished the need for any mid-event touch-ups whatsoever.
Speaking to People, Genevieve Herr (who has been Julia’s makeup artist for 25 years), detailed the line-up of products used to create the stunning and “simple” Critics Choice glam.
As a long-standing ambassador for Lancôme, it came as no surprise that all makeup used on Julia came exclusively from the luxury French cosmetics house, with special mention to the Lancôme Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette ($95, Adore Beauty) and the Idôle Mascara ($55, Adore Beauty) as the products behind Julia’s smokey eye.
The standout for Elizabeth was actually the Prep & Hydrate Primer ($51, Modesens).
“I will not do makeup without this primer, because it’s what keeps the makeup looking fresh the whole night,” Genevieve said. “That’s why when I give her a touch up kit for the carpet, it’s just lipstick. There is no need for her to do nothing else.”
Enriched with a whopping 14 different active ingredients, this hydrating primer seeks to illuminate, plump and smooth the skin for up to 24 hours.
Okay, we’d like to make a purchase…
It will likely come as no surprise that this primer is currently sold out on Adore Beauty, Myer and Lancôme’s own website. However, we’ve managed to track down this almost impossible to get your hands on beauty gem, here. Good luck!
Have you ever tried this primer? If not, which is your favourite?
I wonder if it has SPF!?
Nope
No this one definitely does not
Love Lancome, but she does have an endorsement deal with them.
Lucky lady if she has
Yes, she does – it mentions in the article she’s a long-standing ambassador for Lancôme.
I’ve not used this one, currently use Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Hydrating Serum Primer and I like it.
Yes I’m using this too. I got it from bc ages ago and still using it. It smells incredible.
This looks nice. But I don’t use primer. Maybe I should try
Interesting link
She is always smiling. So nice.
I love Julia -she always looks so natural
Agree. Natural and Beautiful always
I usually skip the primer. I use sunscreen for my face in the morning and it’s great as makeup base.
Yes, I find that too. I never go out during the day without sunscreen.
I’ve been skipping the primer , I find my sunscreen does the job.
I’ve never tried any Lancome products before. This sounds fantastic!
It sounds rally nice
Lancome has grown on me a bit in the last year but some of their products are still mostly hit and miss.
I agree. Their foundations and mascaras are good but can be very hit and miss for the rest.
Isn’t she a Lancome ambassador?
Yes
another good reason to promote but except for the price they are lovely products
I haven’t tried this primer.
Ooh next there’s a GWP at myer or DJs!!
Not a fan of primer
great when you want a really polished appearance
I use a great moisturizer instead.
Julia Roberts makeup is always flawless such a shame that the Gown she choose really didn’t suit her at all.
I see what you mean. Perhaps it would’ve suited her better with her hair up?
I haven’t tried many Lancome products.
Amazing what a difference a good primer makes, especially if you have oily skin
I haven’t tried it but would love too.
I love Lancome but very expensive
Sounds good; I haven’t used Lancome products before
I must actually try a primer sometime.
This primer sounds very hydrating.
No I haven’t tried this primer yet.
I might wear primer for a special event but not day to day. This one is beyond my budget.
Haven’t heard of the Lancome primer before
i don’t really use primer, but i am really keen on trying primers
I love Lancome products but they are $$$
I love that eyeshadow palette 🙂
I do like Lancome a lot
