Jessica Rowe is easily our favourite TikToker. Besides, with a username like With a username like @craphousewife, how could she not be? And if you hadn’t already noticed, we’re swiftly exiting the “TikTok made me buy it phase” and entering into the ‘de-influencing era.’
What exactly does that mean? Put simply, de-influecing is teaching us that not every single viral TikTok product is going to change your life. No? No!
Despite popular opinion, some of the products that saturate our screen have been called out for being overhyped, overpriced, and as far as Jessica is concerned, not suitable for all ages and skin types.
Jessica’s review of this viral bronzer…
“I don’t understand the fuss about this,” she says, holding up the Drunk Elephant Bronzing Drops ($54, MECCA).
Our first question, how did she even get her hands on a bottle? These drops have been selling out repeatedly since going gangbusters on TikTok.
Well, it turns out she “nicked it” from her teenage daughter. And it’s a good thing she didn’t join a lengthy waitlist or pay extreme overs on Amazon because Jessica was far from impressed with the result of this millennial and Gen Z favourite.
“Somehow I don’t think it’s great for mature skin. It sort of settles in the crags, doesn’t it?” she says, layering it over her moisturiser.
As one of the few people over the age of 25 to review this product, it’s hardly surprising that Jessica’s video has already amassed over 560 thousand views. And though Jessica stood strong in her review of the product, the comment section had her followers divided.
@craphousewife Replying to @Bernadette Novembre Time to give @drunkelephant bronzing drops a whirl!! (I nicked them from my daughter) #mumsoftiktok #makeup #drunkelephant #drunkelephantbronzedrops #menopause ♬ original sound – Jess Rowe 🐱
For some, Jessica’s honest review was met with gratitude as it led some to reconsider a purchase. “Lol I love your TikToks!!! I was going to buy this but at 51 maybe I won’t,” one user wrote.
While others remain loyal to the popular liquid bronzer, “I love them but everyone’s different.”
Jessica’s final notes? A few products that she does recommend. “I think the best sort of gel or drops are my menopause gel and tablets,” she jokes. Actually, she’s likely not joking at all.

What do you think of the Bronzing Drops? Have you ever tried them? If not, would you like to?
I haven’t tried them. I only tan for special events and occasions so this isn’t something I need.
I use body tanning cream. So easy.
For $54, I don’t need this!
yeh I definitely don’t – it looks great on jessica though – she was really fair so I can see the difference
same -I would not spend that on a bronzing product
Not something I have tried and probably won’t spend the money on it.
I just use bronzing on my legs as they do not tan well
No, does not look good on me, anything “tanning”
“bronzing”, or brown in general
560000? I’m going to check out her videos!!
I haven’t tried them either. I do think that her video is funny.
Haven’t tried these ones.
I haven’t either.
I haven’t tried this yet, interesting hearing about it and what people think.
I agree it doesn’t work for her and wouldn’t work for me
I don’t use bronzing/tanning products at all, but I love honest reviews and not jumping on the hype
I have a yellow tone to my skin so I’m not sure that bronze would suit my complexion
I have never used them before and I don’t think I would
Not something I would use.
She looks like Jeannie Little in that main photo.
They look good for those who are into tanning. Not something I would use.
I love Jessica Rowe, she’s such a character
drunk elephant is a rip off anyways
Those tanning drops are $$$$$$
Looks nnice and simple to use
I want to try the Naked Sundays and Ultra Violet ones
