When it comes to natural, timeless beauty, Jessica Alba is a master. The actress and Honest Beauty founder has dedicated her business talents to the pursuit of Alba-fied skin care and makeup for everyone (yes, we made that word up).
Over the years, Jessica has garnered attention for her seemingly effortless makeup looks that accentuate her features without overwhelming her natural glow. So, when it comes to makeup hacks, you best believe she’s mastered the skin-like technique.
And this just so happens to apply to her method of camouflaging dark circles. Yes, dark circles under the eyes also affect celebrities like Jessica Alba. Here’s how she conceals them with makeup…
Jessica Alba’s dark circle hack
Of course, skin prep is the key to any natural makeup look – especially when it comes to mature skin. As such, Jessica places significant emphasis on keeping the under-eye area well-hydrated.
She starts her routine by applying hydrating under eye masks. Hydration not only helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles but also preps the skin for seamless makeup application.
We love Simple’s Kind to Skin Brightening Under Eye Mask ($4.99 at Chemist Warehouse) for refreshed-looking under eyes.
Following up with her Honest Beauty Fresh Flex Concealer ($47.57 at Amazon), this is where the magic really happens.
Crediting her makeup artist Maria Vargas for the hack, Jessica first goes in with a warmer tone (closer to her natural shade) in the innermost part of her under eye. Using a lighter tone, she places this shade in the centre of the under eye followed by two more dots in a lifted motion (see video below for demonstration). Using a fluffy brush, she then blends the shades all together for a fresh-looking eye.
While the warmer tone acts as a colour corrector, the lighter shade of concealer works to brighten the face for a more awake appearance. Genius!

What do you think of this dark circle hack? Would you test it out?
I love the tips for concealing dark circles, although Jessica’s are almost non-existent compared to mine. 😀
yes mine look blue sometimes
I find it so difficult to hide dark circles. Too much make up or not enough??
Great tip, I do like the eye masks.
What a great advice, I will have to try it out someday
I’ve heard of this tip before
What a good tip and certainly worth a try.
I will watch the video now too
I’ll be trying that for sure.
I need this.
Dear Beautyheaven, not everyone uses Instagram. Pity can’t watch the video on here
I would try it, but I’ll have to buy another concealer in a different shade.
Do not conceal. Once you stop, no one can tell, as people get used to you with natural look
Meant to say, I do not conceal. Did before, but do not want to be bothered atm
Wish this was true. I have heard someone say about a friend, “gee but she has dark circles under her eyes”
I don’t conceal but the tips are useful
Lucky not usually a problem for me.
I don’t use concealer very often. But would love to try this.
Interesting idea but I wouldn’t call Jessica Alba’s skin ‘mature’
I don’t have dark circles. Yet lol
I dont have intense dark circles but adding concealer under my eyes makes a big difference for me
I love using eye masks, too.
I love this tip!!
Every time I try to conceal my dark circles, I look worse because of the concealer. I cannot get it right.
I started concealing recently and love it.
I think I wish I had my own Makeup Artist. lol
